Dear Colleagues,

Saturday Attendances in Delivery Offices

Further to the relevant clause in the national agreement, representatives will also recall the exchange of correspondence between Steve Cameron and I, where he stated that the default date for reversion would be the 12th January 2008. On that basis the last Saturday that anyone will have to carry out the imposed times is this Saturday 5th January 2008.

Therefore all Delivery Offices who have not already reverted and who wish to do so should now be in a position to revert to the previous Saturday attendance times.
A copy of Mr Cameron’s letter clarifying this point is attached.

The purpose of this e-mail/letter is to ask you to confirm with the Outdoor Department, through your appropriate Divisional Representative, that the reversion programme will be completed on time, and if not, the reason why.

A timely response to this request would be appreciated.

No chance of reverting in Northern Ireland, all the early airport slots given away so no post can come in early so no early Saturday start. Union did a great job in negotiating that

Got our early start back from 12/01/08 but they were not happy so from that date we will have to wait for the miss sort run even though we never had to on a saturday before they have also said part timers only have five minutes throwing off before going on the main frame to sort thats new as well, i think the DOM is a bit upset about it and is going to make us pay LOL i can see some cutting off is needed to get him to see some sense.

So what is your start time then now??

Well the old adage rings true about not being able to please everyone - we took a vote at a union meeting a couple of months ago and at the time it was agreed we would go back to a 05.30 urban and 05.45 rural and that was agreed with the manager - that was then! Now it's a bit like Fred Karno's, everyone seems to have forgotten the agreement, members and managers, and everyone has their own interpretation of what their new start time time should be.

Are saturday start times went back to 05.30 town 06.30 rural from the 5th of january and were in N.Ireland.Most people rushing out like mad men,forgeting the s**t we were put through this year.

Down here in Bournemouth we have had a vote but unfortunately it got voted back to 05:00 on sats , but only just it was a very narrow margin . Me personally did not want to go back to earlier starts as I have gotten used to the new start times. And why should we be messed about on one day a week . Posties in our office already have started to come in early now so god knows what time they will come in on sat's now. We have also had the second section in our office go over to pegasus this week the walks are awfull the bloke doing the plotting is a complete and utter pratt. he knows nothing about our office and like most sat on your arse no good for nothings he is a noddy know all. The most cut off's we have had this week is 11 on one day ,so not that bad really this by the way was no protest by cutting off it was because posties really could not complete the deliveries in the alocated time

Who is agreeing the pegasus cause it is not agreed with the union, won't have it in my office proved it was crap by testing what they considered a 3.15 del to be 4hrs plus, tested it to prove a point the walking speed is too fast!

It also dose not take into account the fatigue side of things in our office like all others it is set at 6 Km an hour we do not keep that pace up. And I agree with you the delivery time our wrong but down here they are set at 3:30 and not 3:15 posties just find it too much

ours set at 3.30 too that was just an example of how wrong they are. But pegasus is not agreed and the union say that reps must be trained on it first, are your reps trained?
Also the Saturday reverts should be for those that want them not to those that don't that was how they wrote it in the agreement.

In our office we had a meeting on friday morning with area rep,branch officals and the members we were asked to compromise to 5.30 on sats but the members agreed that we would go to a rule13 ballot although its only 30mins its the principal of this s**t agreement that its left to local level to take some sort of stand a we backing from our branch and HQ might have been helpful, will eventually lose support of members ayrshire do.
