RM issues the same old copy and paste statement and the media repeat it.

Everything is the fault of the frontline worker, no matter what we do we are always not good enough or wrong. Company policy is to not give a s**t about the workforce, so I don't give a s**t about the company.

for about 5 months now we have 2 days mail to come back to after our days off, not just on some rounds but MOST rounds....

So much for don't just clear your frame, clear your office..... when the people at the top aren't recruiting properly and therefore whole rounds are delayed 1 day every week for 5 months straight.

We aren't just posties, we are also customers.... and we can see the public and ourselves are not getting the service we paid for due to either/or; cost cutting / failing recruitment / failing to retain staff.

Staff will be retained if you treat them right, pay them well and get rid of van share which is inefficient, causes us to be late finishing everyday and makes the job less enjoyable.

Good morning Simon. I am contacting you feeling disappointed that as a manager in ##### DO, we are no longer using agency staff as a much needed resource during this very testing period.

We had two staff that we were well trained, committed to the job, and needed as we have got recent vacancies. They were told on NYE that we are no longer using agency staff, which had a negative impact on the unit in terms of resource and staff feeling.

The two were in the process of being converted to contract, and both the DOM and myself were more than happy with their work and contribution. I understand that we constantly need to look at our efficiency and costs, but these people were part of our coverage plan, in normal times this may have been the best option.

However and when they were let go, it created a very emotional response from my team, to the point they sat in the canteen to discuss it in respect of losing colleagues and not clearing the unit.

We are already stretched in terms of resource, failing our USO, and this was massively exacerbated by losing six staff to positive Covid tests yesterday, thankfully none are serious, but having those agency would have enabled us to have a more robust plan. I would appreciate some context to this business direction to understand and to share with my team. Thanks.
