Intentional. Short term share price boost, lots of people walk away from the train wreck with pockets stuffed.Chelseablue wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 22:22The revisions were done badly and rushed in asap with staff not listened to , simple . Higher up look at the actuals and the scan in/out. If they see say 50 hours unused (actual paid hours) then they're going to order the DOM to remove 50 hours from the office. Them 50 hours then get taken out of various walks with various walks getting added toA2B wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 21:32They do not have the scope to add to walks but have done so anyway hence why offices are failing up and down the UKSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jan 2022, 21:20
If staff were "doing the job properly" then RM wouldn't have had the scope to add to walks, they'd have to have created new (extra) walks

You really don't get it do you! These revisions are being done without any input from DOMs, they are as disillusioned as the delivery staff. The software creating the walks is usuing flawed data resulting in unachievable workloads and is probably costing 3 times the amount of hours they were trying to save to attempt to put right.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022, 06:50Higher up look at the actuals and the scan in/out. They can try and save all the hours they want but what looks good to them on a flow chart doesn't mean it will work in reality.

Spend a pound to save a penny
It's just another page in the, 'how to be a CEO 101' book which Simon reads from daily.
I don't doubt that any rounds on any day are ever designed to be achievable by anyone. That would imply money is at a loss somewhere, not that that is really the reality as it just pisses employees off resulting in a loss of customers, poor brand image and slowing working with more mistakes. Heyho.

Actuals weren't used at all in this revision. That's a fact. Geo-Route and Route Manager in conjunction with our friend the Indoor Work Tool were used. Them and a lot of wishful thinking.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022, 19:45
...and where does some of that data come from? PDA actuals. Only cause of that can be the runners
Just as a for instance - we have two routes where the walk holders were regularly finishing 45 mins to over an hour early, and they both LOST work in this revision. We had other walks that even 'runners' struggled with that have had over half an hour added. Had the revision looked at actuals at all, even secretly, that simply could not have happened.
Let me emphasise again: No PDA actuals were used. I find this a bit puzzling, but it's true. Then again I sort of see it as I'd happily stand by my actuals were my performance on one of these routes questioned in any way - the actuals will now provide evidence that RM may not find to its liking . . . hence the infestation of bigwigs locally are now talking about 'getting the indoor right' (as if 2 hrs will ever be enough to do IPS, prep your walk, sort your packets, tie up, get specials/get the van/do van checks, load the van - because with a 4.45 hour delivery span and a 40 minute break, just over 2 hours is all we're left with).
And let me reiterate that us blaming each other is not only counterproductive and divisive but in this case is wholly without foundation.

Their data requires everyone working at 100% efficiency from the moment their shift starts until the end of shift, it also requires every duty to be covered, neither of these things are possible in the real world.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Jan 2022, 19:45...and where does some of that data come from? They knew that if they if they used actuals for revisions, most walks would get smaller.
But their aim was to make walks bigger and bully staff into "achieving" them, so they deliberately avoided real world information.

Similar at our place but we just had a desktop type revision, duty removed and bits shuffled around but yet again not made equal some of the longest became longer just like when lapsing is allocated indiscriminately.

Wouldn't surprise me if each DOM was given a number of hours that had to be removed from their office

They weren't.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022, 07:02Wouldn't surprise me if each DOM was given a number of hours that had to be removed from their office
DOMs had no say, zero, zilch, nada in whether their office would gain or lose hours, or how the routes in the office would be planned. I'm not sure how to make this plainer, sorry, but:
The only factors taken into account in the revision were what Route Manager and Geo-Route claimed was possible outside, and what the Indoor Work Tool claimed was possible inside.
What the Dom reckoned, what the director thought, what the PDA actuals said, who signed in and/.or out at what time, who's workshy, who's a runner - none of that had any bearing whatsoever.
What did need to happen for the plan to introduce dedicated parcel routes to succeed was that the office had to get those hours from somewhere. Some of them in some cases will have been added in, most of them in most cases came from 'absorbing' walks into new and bigger walks. That this has been a hopeless failure across the country is down entirely to the botched implementation and use of Geo-Route, Route Manager and the Indoor Work Tool.
