I can’t remember the agreement having any mention of the frames all being in the wrong order and staff having no input into how the walks were designed.

How is that a national issue? It's a local issue, the local rep should have sorted it. Walks will be designed locally not nationally

The agreement ? As in streets all over the place , no order at all on frames, duties struggling as they were now miles too big with 100s of calls added on . Staff with a wealth of knowledge never listened to , they didnt want to listen Mental health / stress.through roof , I could go on , agreement yea yea

Why hasn't anyone put their name into the hat to take over as the local rep then? Duties and walks are created locally?

How many:

* Running around their walks
* Coming in early before their paid hours
* Not taking their breaks

I could probably think of other things to add to that list but they're the ones that are to blame as they'll be making walks look doable

Struggling to understand your point. Local reps didn’t decide which computer software RM would use. I hope they have asked for a refund on that.

Say a walk should take 6hrs and a runner does it in say 4.5hrs. The DOM is going to look at that and add 1.5hrs to that walk.

Lets say all the runners finish half an hour before their proper finish time and so go home early and lets say there's 20 of them, that's 10hrs that can be taken out of the office

Funnily enough, that's entirely wrong. None of the above influenced this revision. It was done without even use of PDA actuals (which I find baffling, but never mind),

Revised walks were done entirely using RM's newest computer software (which takes no account of any of the factors you mention, in fact it specifically attempts to design routes that will work 'doing the job properly') and by planners who had the barest contact with the offices they revised. Shop floor input was specifically unwanted until the walks were essentially 'done'. 'Consultation' at that point was perfunctory and it was too late for any useful changes to be made (because of Simon's Hallowe'en 'deadline').

My office (managers, reps and workforce) all tried, vociferously and with pertinent examples of what was wrong, to delay implementation. We were informed that although senior managers agreed with us, they had their orders. So it came in and it's been the unmitigated disaster we all said it would be. We're now infested with outside senior managers who are desperately trying to 'find out why it went wrong'. It's not flipping hard to work that out. Piss poor planning, rushed implementation.

We're not even on the 'naughty list' and masses of mail fails each day. We've more staff in than I've ever seen so RM's lame excuses of 'local resourcing' and 'unexpectedly high absence' are just so much bullshit.

Good to see it has made the management do something well done, our trouble is not the union they got us a cut in the hours we work its us we are the ones who start early miss breaks and put pressure on others to do the same there is some sort of badge of honour to complete rather then leave work and get the staffing right for the workload.

As I say above, that's not how these revisions worked. Nobody looked at going home times, or any of the other things that we seem to love to blame each other over RM's shortcomings. These routes were designed to be achievable by people 'doing the job properly'. That they are not achievable in that way is sod all to do with early starters, early finishers, runners, those hiding in their vans for an hour once they finish, the workshy, or indeed any of the front line staff.

If staff were "doing the job properly" then RM wouldn't have had the scope to add to walks, they'd have to have created new (extra) walks

They do not have the scope to add to walks but have done so anyway hence why offices are failing up and down the UK
