Genuinely and very sorry to hear of his passing. Watch the TV Series and read the books - he was the sort of chap that our mail centre, at least, if it is going to live successfully, needs. A lovely and very charismatic man, who didn't talk cobblers, shot from the hip, and didn't suffer fools, and above, all was not afraid to say what he thought, and invariably he was RIGHT.
