I wouldn't put it past them.

Post by DGP1 »

There is a rumour going around my DO that they are going to transfer us to the local MC, with all the problems that we are having I really wouldn't put it past them (the information comes from the owner of the building).

I wouldn't put it past 'em, either. These executives we've got at the moment, should be inside doing a long stretch, yep, that's right, in a dungeon, on
the rack. :Very Happy

I can only talk about what I've heard about my DO but knowing RM management they'll try to bring offices near the MC into Mallusk so Lisburn, Newtownards, Bangor, Carrickfergus, Ballyclare, Larne and Antrim all better watch or they could all end up working together from the MC.

Just thinking it would be hard to fit in all the walk frames, but just look at the money they would make selling the ground they have current offices on, they would have the money to expand mallusk!!

What I can see happening in my office is the non drivers/those without cars will be encouraged to leave then the FT staff who do move will have to prep extra duties which they'll then take the mail to the area to be delivered by waysiders, then they'll do their own duties, then collect pouch bags/returned packets letters etc. and return to the office to do paperwork/endorsements etc.

There is plenty of space in Mallusk, and think about the lorries/drivers they can remove. Oh crap I don't want to give them any more ideas :mad

Probably try it with one office first (one with lots of town duties) to see how they can make it work (or more likely screw it up) then try and roll it out so maybe 4-5 years (of course in my DO we've been waiting 4 years on a duty revision).

We have been moved twice in 7 years mate. Office sold off. Manager got big big bonus for uit then left. Next manager said it was a disaster and has cost so much more money since we moved (More vans=higher running costs, paying excess travel for 3 years, health and safety issues regarding space). We have my friend, very inferior management at RM.

People without Cars

Post by andy2007 »

We anticipated similar transport problems when they merged the Wingates, Lostock and Brunswick Dock Sites, into the Warrington (NW) RDC. For the first 3 years, they provided a Coach. After that, people found lifts with their Collegues.

Admittedly, it's unlikley that you would get a Coach these days. But I'm sure that if people ask around, they can find Colegues who can give them lifts into work. It's a pain in the neck sorting out leave. But it's worked for us.
