As an investor myself I would strongly discourage anyone who invests with ethics in mind to avoid Royal Mail, and use the great resource that is this forum to find out the truth about this shambles of an organisation..
You would discourage people to avoid Royal Mail?
Or did you mean the exact opposite?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Today i have specials for all over my round. The second half won't get there for 1pm. Why i should care Simon, when you don't!?
Why won’t they get there for 1pm, nip round in the van and do them first before u start anything else. Obviously your going to have less time to do everything else but let your manager know before you leave the office and make it his problem not yours.
Not worth the hassle sadly.
why not? it doesn't take long.

Empty more post boxes, doesn't take long.
PDA van checks, doesn't take long.
IPS and sorting as a part timer, doesn't take long.
Added properties to routes, doesn't take long.
Lapsing on busy days, doesn't take long.
WTL, doesn't take long.

Sorry, but got to draw the line somewhere with the increased work loads.

Besides, when management can't even grant a day off despite being given days off as bank holidays and acruing those days in leu, why should i care? And Simon doesn't care as do the union.

Don't think that'll wash when you're up on a charge of wilful delay. There's only going to be a certain number of SDs that they'll allow to be late before the DOM gets a bollocking from his boss, then your line manager will get the bollocking, finally you'll get the bollocking

Empty more post boxes, doesn't take long.
And the good news is that deliveries are taking most of the few remaining boxes off collections soon.

That's a very obtuse way of looking at things.

Assuming the average postie gets in between 5-10 guaranteed by one per day, going around with them at the start of your round is the easiest way to knock them on the head and not have to worry about them for the rest of the delivery.

All of the extra stuff that you've listed has absolutely ZERO baring on when you get rid of your specials.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No idea Postman, I regularly deliver them late afternoon nothing ever said. Bloke in the locker says hardly anyone breaks off and nothing ever pings on the system.

It must be 'pinging' somewhere, it has to.
Weird.

From what I hear in my office, the 9 o'clockers are never there by 9AM. It's been that way for years with full knowledge from management and nothing has ever been done about it. My first thought, naturally, is to assume management are engaged in some scheme to fake compliance.
The machine stops.
