IF the Mail Centre shaft us on Friday and just dumps everything that's left we're going to struggle. IF we get one of those weirdly quiet Christmas Eves I expect the majority of us will do our best with Cards and Christmas Prezzies and stream the rest. :hmmmm
We won't be allowed to roll anything over so it'll all have to go out to DOs. Any left-over boxes of mail on CSSs will have to go out as manual no matter how many trays there are.

Rep has said they are putting duty on lapsing as its failing, chancing their arm basically. No one will touch it though, but it will probably pee off the runners expecting an early finish
Good, anything to piss off the runners. :Very Happy

We will clear as the headless chickens are in working for nothing before I’m awake.
Not worth doing OT at the pay rate.
I was talking to an ex colleague yesterday at 11.15pm and he had just finished!! He worked more hours at reduced OT than he did his normal hourly rate! His excuse was that if he didnt do it nobody would and he cares about his customers!! :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Then enter me, the polar opposite, walking into the DO after two rest days and zero f***s left to give.

Happy to work to my time and, er...bah humbug, that's it. RM wanted to do Xmas on the cheap and not get enough staff in our DO to cover sickness and those who've left the business....well, that's their problem. My conscience is clear, no matter what I bring back or don't take out today.

Come half two I'm skipping out the DO into the loving arms of my family and forgetting RM completely for four days.

Merry Christmas to everyone on here, hope you all have a good 'un....you deserve it x

It was quite quiet in the end. SDs were massively down on what I'd expected for the final delivery day before Xmas Day, think the SDs actually peaked early last week. Mech was really quiet (makes me think that we're going to get massively hammered with DSA on Wednesday - if that happens any left overs will be going as manual no matter how many boxes). Think the Tracked was down as well

. You should hint at mail centre you work from so a lot of colleagues from DO in the area you serve could get some relief reading this.

Cluster fook as expected today. Good to hear some updates from you Spacepheonix on how it is up there.

Think we'll only drop a few rounds today, but near every postie is looking to cut prep. Sad that those with the "figures" couldn't plan and those without the figures knew this was going to happen.

Merry Christmas everyone. Avoid all work thoughts, put your feet up, and take it easy :thumbup

Against all odds we managed to clear the office  But we were fairly light not too much Mech, IPS, Parcels, Tracked or Specials!

We'll probably suffer next week but nearly everyone was finished by 1400 with a few late runners, a pleasant surprise. :thumbup Feel sorry for those of you that got hammered. Our Christmas hasn't been particularly well managed, if at all, but obviously different areas get different types, and ammounts, of mail. Have a RELAXING Christmas everyone. :cuppa

Greenford MC cleared reasonably early last night was fairly busy in SD Locker but had 15 staff to help clear whereas on Monday and Tuesday during peak posting had to operate with 13 people and to say it was a challenge is putting it mildly. Half the DO's in the area had staff in early with earlier drivers to get most SD's to them by 2 am so looks like someone at Area level has had a rocket and looking to clear office by today.
Spoke to a friend who works next door at Greenford Xmas Hub and he said this year was very quiet by large other than the Covid Test Kits which were astronomical at around 80k at their peak.

Strange one today, van share was abandoned for me so was out on my own whilst two guys took the other walk out, one tray of mech, handful of specials and tracked was well down too, all a bit odd we managed to clear (minus the ips frames which were rammed) and back for 2pm.

Merry Christmas all, well done to everyone for your efforts.

We cleared, but only because a load of ips that failed yesterday mysteriously disappeared overnight - the shitstorm will start again next Wednesday when it all makes a come back!

Likewise .. worst Christmas Eve in my 11 years .. an absolute avalanche of Christmas cards and packets turned up this morning with zero chance of throwing everything in .. told to concentrate on Tracked and leave anything we felt wouldn't be done before the cut-off for getting PO collections back into the DO and away to the mail centre by 2 o'clock .. DOM had absolutely no advance notice of the volume that hit us this morning .. boxes and boxes of cards left unsorted .. utterly shambolic.
