Would your CSP let people into the non-public side of it then?clashcityrocker wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 15:49But if you follow that argument to its logical conclusion not even the Customer Service Point is secure because someone could gain access to it and steal stuff.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 06:55Do "safeplaces" really exist? If you can gain access to place it in a "safeplace" then someone else can gain access to steal it
Maybe they should call it "probably safeenoughplace"

Re: Doorstepping or not?
Unless it's a lockable parcel box then no they don't, as if a thief decides to watch you they can simply steal the parcel from the outbuilding or greenhouse etc nominated by the customer once you're out of sight.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 06:55Do "safeplaces" really exist? You sense one day in the not too distant future if a customer is not in and they don't have a lockable parcel box etc you'll be told to 739 everything.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Doorstepping or not?
I have never known a member be conducted for putting a p739 through a door but...
I have known plenty be conducted for doorstepping or leaving in 'safeplaces'
Rule no.1 in this job is read up on national agreements and protect yourself because when you are sat in a conduct interview about a missing parcel the manager will NOT care that you tried to help the customer out
Merry xmas all

Re: Doorstepping or not?
One other issue is if the postie ignores the safe place request on the PDA, then the packet automatically gets flagged for redelivery the next day. So night shift / early morning phg pulls the packet off the shelf and puts it with the rest of the redelivery items.
Customer then appears with their p739, wanting to get their packet. But it's either in one of several hoods full of redeliveries, or is already out on redelivery.
