Tracked Tracked Tracked and fook the letters.
Are we now a Parcels delivery company because all I delivered today was a whole van of parcels from my park and loop duty and one loop of mail before my finish time

So to be absolutely clear;

Royal Mail Group is committed to the USO and the delivery, collection and processing of letters, packets and parcels with equal status of importance and where we are experiencing challenges it is important that any required contingencies are agreed locally and must include all commercial and USO products and not priorities T24 and T48 parcels.

Not my area at all but I guess our competitors/customers with Downstream access will be looking at our performance regarding their products ?

Same here except I did not do a single letter for the walks I cover, just packets. Huge increase in photo packets also now. Might as well be working for DPD!

Yesterday was the first Saturday for 3 weeks that my duty actually had letters delivered.

Yes, we got told customers aren’t bothered about mail anymore and it’s all about the parcels now. They don’t seem to care that hospital appointments being missed, vouchers delivered after the expiry date and tickets not arriving in time. The union should be all over it.

Every office is different ' I'm part of a very busy office in Scotlands capital have a system going where nightshift' eary starts' manage to sort a vast amount of the massive traffic coming through from the MC outhouses this results in all mail 'packets ' oversized packets ready to leave the office ' around normal times' low absence ' and colleagues taking oversized out early connecting with missorts' although finishing times' are a bit later around the 3 30 4 00 mark the office clears all every day its one of the best systems for a massive Christmas delivery for some time I've seen ! Shows what a bit organisation between workers and managers can achieve ' not all harmony mind you but maybe a bit of togetherness........

It might be down to staffing, probably not every DO is going to have the staff to be able to run a night shift as well as their normal day shift

Still book hours o/t every day.

I'm basically a packet driver on my own duty now. Failed loads of tracked and covids yesterday. Mail piling up and can't catch up. Haven't had a regular partner in 3 months. Help being given to the moaners and favourites whose duties are comparatively clear.

At start of December we were told 'the mail can't fail'. The following week it was packets that was priority. Typical Royal Mail....they get a bee in their bonnet over something and then it's completely changed and forgotten a fortnight later.

Ex DO workmate now working at a MC said they have a massive backlog off letters piling up...

Struggling badly with collection mail through the CFC's
Massive backlog of Mech letters...yorkies piling up waiting to be processed through iLSM's - through to CSS
Then of course a rising backlog of manual letters building up at the end

RM the gift that keeps never being delivered

CSSs are chucking out a load of rejects, typically somewhere between 1 and 2 boxes per batch. Don't know why it always seems to be on the 3rd pass that the machine chucks most of the rejects out
