‘Random’ closure of post offices condemned

MINISTERS from across Scotland's political divide united yesterday in their condemnation of the "random" nature of the post office closure programme.

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Westminster's Transport Minister Tom Harris voiced their concerns following Royal Mail's confirmation that a further two post offices in Glasgow would shut to counter the two in the city which secured reprieves.

Having destroyed Iraq, New Labour are now lemming-like applying their scorched earth policy to their own country. What a sure way to bring about their final and permanent destruction in the next election!

Europe, Commissioner McCreevy and the bureaucrats in Internal Markets write the policy here. Westminster just "implements".

IF you want to stop this and STOP things like the destruction of our mutual finance industry and the theft of endowment policyholders investments (indebting them for life on their home) then STAY OUT of EUROPE.

Europe destroyed our mining, steal and ship building industry. They screw around with our farmers and fisherman. And the Germans / French tried to kill off the whisky industry through differential tax on beer, wine and spirits. Europe - NO WAY JOSE.

The post office is not a business. It is a vital service. A post office used to be the heart of many small communities. Slash and burn - reminds me of the Thatcher years.
