Independent bullying and harassment/grievance appeals - revised approach agreed
Today, we're launching a revised approach to dealing with appeals relating to bullying and harassment and grievance, which have been developed and agreed with our trade unions.
Why change? We want to build trust in our appeals process and ensure managers dealing with bullying and harassment and grievance appeals provide independence.
What’s changed? All appeals will now be dealt with by an independent manager out of the direct reporting line and who has not been previously involved in the concern raised.
What does this mean for me? As part of the revised approach all appeals relating to bullying and harassment and grievance cases now need to be raised directly with the Employee Relations Case Management (ERCM) team in HR Services. You can do this by:
Submitting the appeal in writing to the following address:
Freepost ER Case Management Team Royal Mail HRSC
4th Floor Pond Street
Sheffield S98 6HR
- Emailing the appeal to ERCMTeam@royalmail.com
- Notifying the manager who heard the case at the previous stage that you wish to appeal, in writing. This manager will then forward your appeal to the ERCM team.
There are no further changes to the policies and all timescales for dealing with concerns remain unchanged. The policies and supporting guidance documentation have been updated to reflect this new independent appeals manager approach.
