Re: Vaccine mandate
Why should I be forced to work with anyone who allegedly cannot wear a face covering ? Why is this any different to working with unvaccinated people ?

You don't have to - the manager should be able to make reasonable adjustments. In fact thats mentioned in the blurb about people who can't wear masks.tractorboy2 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2021, 08:54Why should I be forced to work with anyone who allegedly cannot wear a face covering ? As is the fact that people can be dismissed in certain circumstances for refusing to wear a mask, despite some denying its possible.

Re: Vaccine mandate
I also agree, however as I understand it the inoculation is the most effective at reducing the risk, followed by mask wearing, handwashing and social distancing. But none of these reduce the risk to 0%.ssdd wrote: ↑09 Dec 2021, 16:06I would agree with most of what you're saying TBT. I would raise the question that if it is assumed that unvaccinated people pose a greater risk to society as a whole, doesn't the mask wearing/social distancing/handwashing virtually bring this difference to be of little consequence?TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑09 Dec 2021, 08:33Along with choice comes the responsibility to accept the consequences of that choice.
If one of the choices not to get vaccinated means your employment can be put in peril, surely that consequence should be weighed against the perceived benefits of not being vaccinated.
But some may say, that I shouldn't be forced to have a vaccine I don't want. Similarly, why should people who have been vaccinated be forced to work with those who have exercised their right not to be vaccinated, after all the risk after vaccination is not zero, and the more unvaccinated people there are, the higher the risk to even the vaccinated.
Thoughts.
I could understand it more if we were all intermingling without these measures still in place.
I personally look after 2 high risk people so I follow all the guidelines as much as I am able, but I agree with what is left unsaid, in that managers are not minimising the risk, they seem to be going doing the route of whatever gives them an easier life.
