Eric was a comedian, Thompson is a joke.

I'm ready for the pay negotiations next year and Terry Bullshitter telling us there is no money in the pot for a pay rise because RM had to spend so much on hire vans, and that we should be so grateful that they did that!

Well apparently they start planning for Xmas around April time....so just what HAVE all these planning bods done all year for their huge salaries then, if the outcome is a desperate Royal Mail introducing emergency measures 3 weeks from the big red mans visit?

It was NOVEMBER when someone, somewhere, decided that there are over 500 excess vans in RM, since vans are such a vital tool - for Xmas in particular - why was this not looked at back in April?

Severe shortage of vans, severe shortage of staff, morale below ground level, post and parcels not delivered for days, the only header that the planners post Xmas report can have on it is "Planned to Fail - Christmas 2021".

Ah I know...let's blame COVID.

Stop the press!

It's now going to be announced on Sunday, it's that important.

Simon 'The man without a plan Van' Thompson

Team - Xmas Vans - we plan to have the process communicated tomorrow (Sunday) - effective from 8am Monday morning……

Which completely smacks the managers in the face with a sweaty wet fish regarding his comment about wanting managers to regularly switch off from work...

Simon 'Did I really say our screws should switch off when not at work?' Thompson

as per our agreement - "the right to switch off"

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Those combi vans are totally useless at Xmas

Imagine a van share scenario where you are forced to take tracked items 1st from your Lino due to the lack of parcel drivers. Great so once you got all those bulky parcels in, wheres the room for the other dozen bulging pouches of mail?? Passenger seat? Glove compartment? Spare roof rack? :chuckle :chuckle
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I was told we had 500 too many - I was shown a report and a table - to prove the point - the frontline kept saying - that isn’t true we don’t have enough - I checked again - frontline were correct - we will have a retrospective in January - for now - let’s focus on our customers….
Mein Gott, it's like a Downfall parody in real life.

I think I finally see Simons cunning plan, he is having delivery staff playing a part in his Christmas live version of Oliver Twist, where the DOM's are playing the part of Oliver Twist, asking 'Please Sir, can we have more vans'......
Everything will be OK in the end, If it's not OK, then its not the end.
