Mask just wont work if we dont carry on with social distancing and stopping van sharing . I just dont see the point in going in half arsed ,either do it properly or dont bother. This morning we were shoulder to shoulder with each other on the sorting frames , and your telling me a paper mask is going to stop me from getting it and worse still if he is wearing a dirty mask that has probably not been cleaned for days. Its all a mess and RM will not spend money on hire vans to stop van sharing .

Similar situation at the RDC where I work, compliance is well below the previous level on the early shift. I received a positve email response from Dave Joyce regarding an issue relating to mask wearing previously. But I was disappointed in the way the matter was handled subsequently, mainly by the CWU area H&S rep who on visiting found no evidence that there was an issue with compliance.
But he visited at the start of the next shift & on my day off!!

Social distancing isn't viable in MCs during Xmas pressure when there's extra staff in. For staff to be more spaced out in one area, more have to be crammed into another areamalawihap wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 22:38Mask just wont work if we dont carry on with social distancing and stopping van sharing . It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Do we still get full pay if we have to isolate because of NHS covid app ping?

Our place can't even order enough masks.
Lets take a system that works (order for the whole office at once) and instead ask WAMs to order for their own work areas.
The competent managers order them till their allocation is maxed out and junior managers blocked from ordering any.
Result = no masks for the whole plant and for local DOs.
oh **** they say when masks are re-introduced.
oh **** all the shifts have arranged their Christmas parties this weekend.
Has anybody ordered more masks? nope.
Are people threatening to take unpaid leave as the office is a shambles over masks etc - yep.
It's a joke.

Compliance at less than 10%.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Compliance about 50% at ours.
They need to get tough. Wear a mask or get taken down conduct (unless you have a doctors exemption note)

Compliance below 50 per cent in our place. DOM just returned after getting covid. Tells everyone that it is a really horrible experience yet can't be arsed to enforce the wearing of masks.
Actually, having thought about it what options does a DOM have to deal with those that are not compliant? I presume this mandatory instruction is a health and safety issue if so is the conduct code an option?

Yes.
Possible slight problem with whether you are vaccinated or not and ok to isolate, I think varies in each country.

Vaccination status is no one’s business
