Simon, hear these words , WE ARE KNACKERED, and weve got the worst bit to do yet, Or maybe youd prefer the public to see us trailing lines of vomit and diarrhoea on our walks, or maybe go back to the times in the summer when posties were dropping down with exhaustion?

The route I'm on is already one of the heaviest (used to be 2, but the computer decided that if it were combined and had one street taken off it, it could be done solo. Upmarket rurals with at least a full York of tracked a day...)
Every day, a manager will tell me (or whoever is on it,) "heavy one today! Everyone's in the same boat, wait til Christmas".
As I watch people with half a York leaving 90 minutes before I've finished prepping 2 York's of stuff

I have hardly ever been off sick at work in my whole life - over 60 now. But I have damaged my Achilles tendon and in my second week off - Only SSP as I am only 7 months on RMG. I don't think I will be able to do the long walks any more. Hoping to get a rural van duty when I go back. Are there any other options with less or no walking?

There's more illness around, duh.

Covid levels are sky high (even among vaxxed) and there's LOADS more winter colds and flu, because we're all mingling more and don't have immunity.

Is this bloke thick or what?

Rural duties are often deemed as a bit of a cushty number therefore usually get snapped up fairly quickly by the senior bods. With only 7-months in the chances of you bagging one are extremely slim at best, even if one was to become available….hopefully there are other avenues you can explore? Best bet is to speak to your rep. GL

If Terry Bullshitter popped a pair of glasses on it would be hard to tell him and Super Si apart.

At the peak of the pandemic, just imagine if an employer stopped staff from sharing vans, made (most of) them wear masks in the workplace and made some attempt at social distancing. It may just have kept absence levels down.

Now, when Covid levels are high again, none of these measures are being taken because its christmas and we need to shift volumes of work. Then, because there is no Covid safety staff sickness levels go through the roof.

In response does the boss of the company

a) reintroduce safety measures for the sake of staff welfare

or

b) point fingers at the staff for taking too much sick leave? for his thoughts.

Maybe someone should ask that Pullinger chap for his thoughts.

Unbelievable. Clueless. Out of touch (was never in touch). Don't want to swear so I'll stop there.
