This man is a massive w****r. Seen through his smarmy little nice guy routine months ago. This is just another insult to add to the many he has already given in his tenure so far. His workplace live thing last week after the half year results was nauseating, all his little minions sat around him blowing smoke up his backside whilst he condescendingly calls us all watching ‘team’
It’s a sick joke.

Postman have been ground down in My office. It’s not like You can struggle in and sit down all day. Your walking miles some in their 60s with health problems. Let’s get real.

This is such a good point. We dont do an office based job where you’re in a comfortable and heated environment all day, tea and coffee on tap, toilet breaks whenever. There really is no such thing as an easy day at work doing what we do, not now anyway. And you cant take your foot off the gas as the day goes on, clock watching etc

I don’t know the man , never met him , or spoken to him, so I can’t comment on his personality flaws described by yourself , however I do agree with your point about his minions blowing smoke up his arse, but my one question to you is , why do you watch these things if it irritates you. I agree with your sentiments but I don’t watch these things therefore it doesn’t matter what he says.

I wonder how many people are off sick because they can't do a delivery due to injury/illness and the DOM has told them to stay off because there's no indoor work for them?

Hope Simon doesn't need anytime off if he damages his coccyx, polishing his chair with his arse or hurts his knees bowing to Daniel Kretinsky.
I’m sure pullinger will do it for him

I have to wonder if this is the greatest straight-faced comedy act of all time, or if he genuinely cannot grasp the obvious.

Simon
we need "all hands on deck"...[/i]
Remember now, the captain goes down with the ship. Will it be Edward Smith or Francesco Schettino?
The machine stops.

I'm in my late 30's. And I feel done. Absolutely mentally and physically knackered. So I really do feel for any of the older workers, carrying injuries and still soldiering on. It is relentless. And comments from the top like this are sickening. They don't motivate they just make you want to jack it in.

Even if theyre well intentioned, its just so misjudged. The guy clearly has no idea how hard the vast majority of us work everyday, and how low moral has been for a long time now. Comments like this from the person at the top just cause anger and resentment.

Somebody tell him the Pandemic is not over!

UK Covid 19 Cases
24 Nov 2020 seven day average 18,295 (daily)
23 Nov 2021 seven day average 42,174 (daily)

So you see daily Covid cases are double that last year.
Not the brightest comment to make is it?

How about employing more people over 6 days like we used to get to work early, get out early then get back early. Customers happy staff happy, and then God forbid someone Phones in with a sickness bug (not covid, not mental health issues or physical injuries) people where always open to working more or all hands on deck to quote a phrase!
Just a thought, staff want to be at work happy not stressed and overworked. We just want to complete or rounds and serve our customers not as now justbwork to.our time and leave it in this isn't good for anyone.

Good point. I remember in the olden days, the latest I used to get done was 1pm on a bad day. My circumstances back then were different (I needed the money) but I was quite happy doing a few extra bags. Sickness was covered, things were cleared, much more ‘team’ (that word again) work. Nowadays when you’re doing monster rounds where you need to stay out until at least 4pm to complete, there’s little incentive to do extra and end up working until 5/6pm.

And yes spacephoenix, I’m well aware if anything dispatch times from mail centres will become later not earlier
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
