It is gutting. How the CWU could agree to this is beyond stupid. Did they think there'd be no backlash or hard feelings? Crazy. One things for sure, everyone who does docket will be making sure they do 8 hrs in the months they are (ironically) on annual leave! Just remember SA doesn't count, which is probably why they pay Sunday packets at this rate a our office.daveyeff wrote: ↑15 Oct 2021, 16:58of course they did it this way to save. if they had of done it on an average pay per month basis most people would have got money and it would have cost them millions more. i average 10 to 12 hrs a week overtime. but i missed out on one of the perods cos i was an hour under the threshold. but for them to cancel the whole 6 months period for the sake of 1 hour beggars belief. why the f*** was THIS agreed? how can it be fair to cancel out 6 months average for the sake of an hour. its an absolute disgrace. some people missed out by MINUTES. the negotiators need to take a long hard look at themselves.postslippete wrote: ↑11 Oct 2021, 18:31Chiphartley wrote: ↑09 Oct 2021, 15:59This company has really showed its true colours this time.!!
Why didn't they just do average hours per month for a 6 month qualifying period.??
My average is 16 hours... almost double the 8 hours they class as a relevant amount.
However, I do less when volumes are low, and more when high, to suit the needs of the business.
Why should that flexibility affect my holiday pay entitlement at all ??
This is equality gone mad yet again, punished for working to the needs of the business.
Don't worry I will be making it up, contacting acas as soon as possible. And in the meantine, going as slow as possible and milking the overtime to get back what is mine (like the rest)
That would have been the obvious and most logical way to do it!!
But not Royal Mail. They probably did it this way because they knew they could SAVE
