Been told that there are massive cuts on the way. I only hope they are all duties that are held by people that voted yes.

As with any flawed system if they insist that your job requires extra work just ask for a test after all you do not have to work over your time o/t is an 'option' i dont wish to do it and should not be forced into doing so i would fight tooth and nail if they ever tried to increase my delivery span

There has been mention that it's now a 'young mans job' well all you oldies thats age discrimination so they had better be aware as i know quite a few posties that will challange them under this act so look forward to the first court action on this with anticipation :nana :nana

And royalmail are introduceing mandatory drug testing if you do not have 5 mg of cocaine in your blood you are put on a stage for not being fast enough!.

The georoute parameters that were set for our office was a number of walks - 4mph walking speed and 88% call rate, so according to RM you don't deliver to 12% of your walk a day. That was in 2006. Now for 2008 they are lowering the call rate to 82%.

All these parameters calculated REMOVE walks from the office, don't be fooled by it.

How will they decide the cuts , will they take so many out of each office to make it fair?

Going on past history they will use Gio-route duties with non-agreed data and lower call rates and this will be used to cull duties (at least in DOs/SPDOs). The counter to this if you think their data is flawed and therefore the resulting duty is unfair, is to do your job correctly.

Follow all H&S guidelines including bag weights, do not use short cuts either on delivery or on prep, take all breaks and start and finish at the contracted time. It may be a pain but if you can only complete the job because you use you own car, advise them of this as the duties should be worked on the assumption you are not using your PMV, if nothing is done then advise them that you may considering stopping this. If they say ok but you can never use your own PMV again then you have a decision to make.

Of course whether or not you want to go down this route is necessarily your own decision, but in the end AL and AC have both stated publicly that you are only expected to work your contracted hours. If you want the docket take it, if you don't make sure you advise the requisite manager on days you cant complete and make sure you work to your proper time.

I would also advise getting a desk diary and make notes daily on when you told your manager, what time you finished, how much you left in/brought back, whether it was left till the next day, if they allowed you to stream it, ahh shucks you should all know now how to do it.
