Just work your time - it's not that simple though is it for many obvious reasons.

Regarding Remembrance, I only recently learnt that upto 27 million Russians and 20 million Chinese died during WW2 and the UK lost 450k. Yet it is instilled into the British consciousness that we won the war single handedly! Unbelievable casualties across the world and this should also not be forgotten.

This has failed spectacularly in residential areas. Royal Mail don't seem to realise that people do not really want to stay indoors waiting for us to (hopefully) turn up to collect their parcels.

Working for RM I found it fascinating how scared most posties were of losing their job or upsetting the DOM. They have built a fear culture more so than other places I've worked. The reality is, it's a job now with no perks. It's absolute drudgery since covid, particularly for reserves. It's poorly paid and the working conditions and culture are dire.

Aye, those who challenge the old order or appear to "cause" management problems by leaving lapsing or loops seem to find themselves out on a limb especially if they are not duty holder's. You can understand newbies doing their best to impress but feeling somewhat demoralised that they are being used like canon fodder. Those, like me, couldn't give two hoots if they upset the DOM! Whats more important after all - working 10 hours a day nearly killing yourself or your mental health?? I know which one I'm choosing.

At my DO, the walks are too big anyway. Take away the D2D and they may be manageable on a light day. We've not seen a dramatic decline in letters apart from a short period in the summer. They just started the lapsing then and never stopped it. So I don't see the drop in letter propaganda. It doesn't wash, certainly not where I live. It may be different elsewhere.

We're probably putting through between 1/2 and 3/4 of what we put through our machines this time last year. It's probably a fair bit less than that if you exclude bulk postings. we're due to lose one of our two iLSMs next year. Do you really think that RM would be doing that if there wasn't a massive drop in letters traffic?

As more and more items get the 2D barcodes there'll be more and more data about what each walk is getting

Probably cause a lot of the letters are put through the wrong stream at the outward MC and have to be manually sorted at the inward MC.
Also seems to be an increase in packets put through FSM , strangely from those MC's who've recently got a PSM.

Youve ended up with decent posties who cared about the place and went the extra mile etc now doing there hours only cause of the unfairness of revisions . Thats not good management is it

The outward MC should be loading the correct stream for each type of mail (use the appropriate orange card for an iLSM)

Probably anything rejected by a PSM if it's a suitable size is being offered up to a FSM. Packet in flat trays has been a problem for many years. If we were to have a mini sleeve in our manual flats area for packets to be chucked into that have come in in flat trays then I doubt it'd take us long to fill it. Some trays are just full of packets. tbqf RM should get rid of all the FSMs as there isn't the traffic to justify having them anymore

I agree , which is probably why that put all and sundry through it , have to justify its existence.

This is targeted at regular eBay sellers who will gladly have it collected for free instead of using their own time and fuel to queue at a busy Post Office
