Transfers

Post by RobRoyThePostie »

I've had a transfer request back to my old DO for a year now. I've heard nothing in regards to any move back. I was informed it's harder nowadays for full timers to get transfers as more and more vacant duties are made part-time. So I thought I'd change tack and requested to my boss if Edinburgh MC could be added to the transfer. I like Edinburgh and could stay across the Forth with my folks until I got my own place (or even with a friend in the city centre).

Is it easier to get into MCs or is it wishful thinking for a transfer at all these days? I am also considering other possibilites outside of RM as well.

If you received the same standard letter from Human Resources as i did, thaking me for my transfer request, also telling me not to involve anyone else in the transfer ect ect, just ignore that.I went to the mail center i wanted to transfer to,spoke to the manager there, spoke to the union man at the mail center and was transfered in 3 weeks,my transfer request had been in for 2 years,do not rely on HR to do anything. The office i wanted to go to had loads of causuals, the union SHOULD help with a transfer as full time jobs for existing members must come before casual employment.

Best of luck

I don't think you can move while on a stage - and a grievance I think must be resolved but is it possible for the resolution of the grievance to be that you are transferred from that particular office. :hmmmm
