SNOW - HOW BAD WAS IT ROUND YOUR WAY

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Image

A little wind blown snow round here but the forecasters are saying that Scotland/Northern England will get the worse with the South getting it later today, The Midlands and most of Yorkshire and the North West are going to miss it.

Or could it be that the News Programs have overplayed the snow story again.

It doesn't snow that far south - the softies in London don't know what bad weather is - there'll be people in their mid thirties in Lunnun who haven't seen snow, except on skiing holidays - talk about Cool Runnings - good job there is TV else they wouldn't know what skiing was.

I worked in Basingstoke one Winter and where I worked was up a slope of about 300 meters but not that steep This place had security on the gate and when I turned in for work in my car they said "How the hell did you get here everyone else is having problems getting up the hill" - I asked why as only about 1 inch of snow had fallen.

They don't get the practice down there.

They would have kittens if it ever got like this - ImagePhoto taken in my local area.

No snow yet and fingers crossed no snow at all (I really hate delivering in the snow, on foot, on a bike or in a van)

Sometimes the snow is so deep we have to eat the pigeons, which is fortunate cos we keep em in our bedrooms, mind we always keep a breeding pair - it was lookin pretty desperate once I was down to the last breeding pair, the whippet and the wife - and can I just say she was fortunate it started to thaw.
