Also I’ve seen a few people post their exact overtime hours for each period - very easy for management to identify someone on here when they’ve posted to the minute how much OT they’ve done for each period.

Re: Holiday pay
Has anyone who had a live claim and e-mailed CWU legal to withdraw it received any reply or do we have to wait until pay day on the 22nd to find out?

Why didn't they just do average hours per month for a 6 month qualifying period.??
My average is 16 hours... almost double the 8 hours they class as a relevant amount.
However, I do less when volumes are low, and more when high, to suit the needs of the business.
Why should that flexibility affect my holiday pay entitlement at all ??
This is equality gone mad yet again, punished for working to the needs of the business.
Don't worry I will be making it up, contacting acas as soon as possible. And in the meantine, going as slow as possible and milking the overtime to get back what is mine (like the rest)
That would have been the obvious and most logical way to do it!!
But not Royal Mail. They probably did it this way because they knew they could SAVE
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

You just know whichever way they cut the cake RM will ALWAYS get the biggest slice. I truly feel they've got smarter cookies on their side of any negotiating table than the CWU's got on theirs.
EVERTIME we thing we've got a small victory for common sense there's always something in the small print that backfires in our faces. It's enough to make you a cynic (Oh wait I already am)!

Royal Mail and the CWU agreed upon a lump sum backdated 2 YEARS.
My first point is that many people probably have or had no idea what or when they were not given what they were entitled to.
My second point is even if they did know what they were entitled to claim, they certainly wouldn't be able to claim anything beyond this summer just gone.
When I click on the link it’s just advice.

Re: Holiday pay
The link I provided - there’s a link under ‘tell Acas you’re making a claim’ just click it, work through a few easy to process pages then you get to the form.lin1 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2021, 16:35xPandabear1992x wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 21:33in ACAS's on words, the claim needs to be made no later than 3 MONTHS after the incorrect payment.

It’s a doddle compared to some of the government websites I’ve encountered in the past.

Re: Holiday pay
I emailed Employment Tribunal & copied royal mails lawyers into the email to withdraw 10min before the deadline. It worked, got paid on the 8th.
Now going to start a new ACAS case cos I missed period & I want my money

Re: Holiday pay
of course they did it this way to save. if they had of done it on an average pay per month basis most people would have got money and it would have cost them millions more. i average 10 to 12 hrs a week overtime. but i missed out on one of the perods cos i was an hour under the threshold. but for them to cancel the whole 6 months period for the sake of 1 hour beggars belief. why the f*** was THIS agreed? how can it be fair to cancel out 6 months average for the sake of an hour. its an absolute disgrace. some people missed out by MINUTES. the negotiators need to take a long hard look at themselves.postslippete wrote: ↑11 Oct 2021, 18:31Chiphartley wrote: ↑09 Oct 2021, 15:59This company has really showed its true colours this time.!!

Re: Holiday pay
Got another one over the CWU and the workforce - they will be back slapping themselves as a job well done.
I don't really do that much overtime myself but I've heard of many disgruntled workers at the depot. Some got over a grand whilst others got next to nothing (even though they actually did the overtime).
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
