Delivery time span

Post by Wat69 »

Can anyone clarify what is the maximum delivery time span allowed under the new revision. I had heard from our union that it is no more than 5 hours but they have just agreed to no change to my current delivery because the assessor says it’s fine as it is, it currently takes me between 6 and 7 hours!

There doesn’t seem to be any agreement anywhere regarding delivery spans some people run around and take 3 1/2 hours on the same delivery some people stroll around and take 5 1/2 so who knows

Try to get it tested, that is way too much, go above rep if needed.

Contact stephen.molloy@royalmail.com (Head of Delivery Performance) and ask him for help.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If I was to complete my newly revised duty it would be at least 6hrs and probably nearly 7hrs, needless to say we headed back to the office just after 14.20pm to finish at 14.40pm, 15.00pm duty end. We probably delivered 1/4 of the letters and the rest were packets.rest of the fitting is currently rammed with 11 trays underneath and a York and a half of packets at the side  rest of the office is pretty much the same, some people had their first letters in almost 2 weeks today.....

Our revision begins in 2 weeks. Dreading it. The duties looks completely undoable. Every experience I’ve heard or read about revisions in other offices has been the same story, delivery’s all massive and failing every day. It makes me wonder if all this is being done on purpose, to what end is anybody’s guess.

There hasn’t been a national delivery span limit since 2010 😩

If it takes that long it’s to big. You must be working O/T to complete. You should cut off! Before you do yourself an injury.

you will probably find some duties are ok and some are far to long the main problem is there not prepared to look et these heavier duties causing stress related sickness goin through the roof. seems to be a bit of a face off between staff and management and in the meantime the mail builds up on these duties due to sickness so why arent the union getting involved sorting this mess out or are they on the side of the management

Ive started cutting off because its just getting ridicolous, the planner doing the revisions has told me its a 5 hour job, ive told him its between 6 - 7 depending on the day. Nobody care nobody listens

Sick to death of these planners saying the computer says it can be done. Just once the planner should be
given a bag and a van key and they can heroically demonstrate how the delivery can be done. Then when they return to the office at 5.30 the reality of the mess may start to dawn on them.
