I've just opened my payslip and I think my back pay is wrong.
I have increased from 23 hrs to the new full time in the last few months and wouldn't be surprised if it has contributed to messing it up.
What is the process for challenging it? Any ideas other than ask the manager?

Ok I’m struggling to understand this as I never work overtime I’ve seen it on notice boards at work, but haven’t looked into it, is the argument that if you average say 50 hours a week all year round you should get that while your on annual leave and not just your contracted hours?

“If you regularly get paid overtime, commission or bonuses, your employer must include these payments in at least 4 weeks of your paid holiday.
Some employers might include overtime, commission and bonus payments in your full 5.6 weeks' paid holiday (statutory annual leave), but they do not have to. This is because the law on overtime, commission and bonus payments being included in holiday pay is based on the EU Working Time Directive, which is 4 weeks' holiday only.”

Ok well I probably in a tiny minority here, but that is crazy to me, you choose to do overtime no one is twisting your arm, so why would should you get more than your contracted hours while on holiday!

Maybe because Royal Mail only employ people on 24 hour contracts but they end up working full time hours.

Yes, this is not about Bob or Sue doing a bit extra, this is the business like many other businesses taking the piss with s**t arse contracts knowing the contracts are not fit for purpose, but that's ok, cause they will work an extra ton of hours over anyway.

Maybe if they put you on a 1 hour/week contract you would see things more clearly.

Yes I could understand that, but almost everyone like I said at my workplace are full time and work 60+ hours every single week, sometimes up 80+, because they absolutely love it
