So they've done this before. https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/co ... 63422.html
The difference is this time they're using our words as a tool to hold Simon accountable to the agreed promise of 400 revisions by November. For me it just highlights the fact there are entities that will use your words against you to further their own purposes.
This time, it's fuel for the fire to what was already decided in my opinion. The real cause is due to rising costs. https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/co ... 61671.html
To allude that the opinions on here are the cause of this decision, is twisting the narrative. Again, a tool with which to hold us to account, and to press on with the incessant drive for rapid transformation and profit.
I'm inclined to agree.

It's obvious how much and where this company continues to hemorrhage money.

What i can't work out is if Simon is just bad at his job, or he just doesn't care as he knows he's powerless to change anything, and simply is buying his time until being kicked out. His portfolio isn't exactly good, so potentially the latter.

Interesting....

Simon has started another thread on Workplace about us, and there are some screenshots that he has used which I will post below after his comments.
Funny, he or they did not screenshot Woody's post :hmmmm

Morning Team - voices from elsewhere attached - and this is the forum the analysts now look at - which has a direct impact on all of our futures.....

Revisions - I review progress everyday - we are doing rather well - thank you - and of course change causes some disruption (change always does) - I see this with my own eyes every week when I am in the operation - but revisions are making life fairer for everyone - and I will never stop focusing on that....

Next week we will pass a significant revision milestone - I will update you during my CEO Q&A on Thursday/Friday.
I do get a ton of requests from the team asking for a structural rather than a table top revision - so as per our agreement - as we make this an annual exercise - we will implement a structural revision everywhere in time - please keep the honest feedback coming.
Two other topics - we are already focusing on speeding up recruitment - a big thank you to Terry and the CWU team for supporting us so brilliantly last week - thank you.

.....and now we need to focus on absence, to really understand how we can help the team get back to work - and make sure those that cannot, get the best support we can give them.
I did a "thank you" video this week for one of the team that has had some bad news - I confess I do find them hard to do - it always reminds me that as much as some weeks are tough at work (last week was not my favourite one!) - there are others in a much tougher situation than me.
And on quality, I have just been through our scorecard this morning - last week is our best week for some time - perhaps all of our change is starting to settle down.

We all have a responsibility to help re-invent Royal Mail for the next generations - it is a very important mission.
Let's keep going...!

And I'm sick of this woman below (Gal) in my other thread about Workplace...

I hear enough swearing each morning to last me a lifetime and royalmailchat is no different. It's a negative aspect of our frontline culture that needs to be addressed. But, as for these comments, it's more echo chamber, ego stroking, negativity where these anonymous keyboard warriors push the 'them vs us' line deeper and deeper into the frontline culture. When will they wake up and realise that they are part of the problem but could also be part of the solution? If investors are making decisions based on this forum alone then, yes, we are doomed.

For the record, she and her husband does not have a TV at home, slightly relevant, but slightly not.

Keep it clean as they are looking in.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I never knew this site had so much power 👍🏻 Keep up the good work

Personally i think this site portrays an honest view that can not be mirrored on Workplace app as people would be afraid to say certain things on there as it ‘goes against business standards’
This site offers good advice and also gives frank and honest views and also offers latest updates on what's happening at Royal Mail. During Covid / Lockdowns i was finding information here that even my manager was unaware off.

Reading this forum and then reading Workplace sometimes it feels like two different places to work. I know which one reflects the ongoings in my DO.

Workplace to me is good but also a curse for Royal Mail as when i see the correct procedures being followed, shiny offices, bright displays, trust survey meetings, huddles, health and safety being given so much importance i look at it and think my DO is nothing like this 👀

On the off-chance that Simon reads through this thread:

Get the CSS software updated so that when there's a re-direction label on a letter, have it read the address from that label instead of the orange barcode. Do that and it increases the amount of mail that we can send through the system as mech

That last sentence from 'Gal' really destroyed any credibility to her statement - "If investors are making decisions based on this forum alone then, yes, we are doomed".

Any investor worth their salt would not be basing investment decisions on comments here alone. This site is open to ANYONE to make posts, that could include parties that would like to bring disrepute to Royal Mail.
I suppose the other way to look at it is if they are, then yes, we are all doomed. Because then the insight and intelligence to accurately weigh up opportunities, along with the true reality of the business performance has been lost, along with any hope that there are still rational business leaders out there.

The reason they don't actually use screenshots of my post or any constructive criticism of the structural revision process is that they are trying obviously to paint this site as being completely negative.

It is actually the PR team behind the whole Simon showcase and that's all it is that are promoting an us and them culture so that anyone who says anything negative is considered a danger to the company.

It is actually corporate level bullying using the company money to fund the demonising and isolation of any dissenting voices. It's a common PR tactic but still pretty disgusting.

Keep it clean as they are looking in.

No point.
The PR team will trawl this site until they find a bit of negativity and swearing anyway.

They have an agenda and it's as much not about a fair and balanced viewpoint as Simon's revisions are not about a fair and balanced workload.

Why all the attention on Royalmailchat all of a sudden? When the DSM mentioned it in passing a few years ago it seemed like he momentarily forgot some corporate rule not to acknowledge its existence. It's not like there was information on here for the last decade and a half that didn't already get communicated via the employee surveys; so I can only assume the last, say, 18 months have been so bad and the reports being sent up the chain of command are so rosey as to whiff of nature's fertiliser enough that the CEO did a UBS before it was fashionable.
The machine stops.

Glad to see he was "Hearing more about us having to increase recruitment" :thumbup

IMO most of the day to day problems in my DO would disappear if we actually had the Correct Level of Staffing. Instead we play Fire Fighting games shifting Posties about at an hours notice to try and get through the day. :no no

I'm sure Postman will appreciate the Thumbs Up CG!.

Just remember with ALL this social medai BS you always have the Option of "Opting Out". Your life could be a lot less stressfull when your idiot-phone's not pinging and swooshing with posts from God Knows who.

It's even got the stage now where I'll go for a shower when my Wife's watching the evening news, because I'm just fed up with this constant stream of BS from EVERYONE! :cuppa

The pretext of the thread title is all wrong. Royalmailchat did not tank the share price, market investors doing their due diligence used the discussions here for information. They did not like what they saw and acted accordingly. I have no problem with that. They will also see that all over the country, there are newspaper/local website stories of dissatisfied customers as a result of failed structural revisions.
Smiling Simon has put a great deal of faith in trust. If the growing body of evidence is that he is not reporting reality, even if it is because he is being fed unreliable information by “yes-men”, the share price will react accordingly. Down.

Good post bob , structural revisions have been a disaster for us posties and customers also . This has highlighted again that they wont or dont ever have time for , respect or listen to the people who make this buisiness work ( us) . Its always been the same and this time has shown this up big time! Its been embarrassing .
