Who's driving round with the over-sized, and are they switching their engines off at drops? It's pretty easy for managers to see individual cases of idling on Trimble, but is that being enforced?
I didn’t think they were allowed to use the information from Trimble /PDA Actuals and the myriad of other surveillance techniques they have, against us.

I think they're not allowed to use this information for conduct cases, but for the purposes of actual 'management' that may be different. I know myself and other folks have had managers pointing to both the data from Trimble and PDA actuals.

How much fuel gets used during the regeneration of the DPF of any RM van that uses diesel?

Electric is the way forward if they can do a lease deal to make it worthwhile.
Blimey, they can't even charge all the PDA's up. Imagine the morning after a power cut in the night. Sorry, no delivery today.
Most electric vehicles don't take an entire night to charge from empty to full even on the slower chargers, so I can't imagine that a short power cut in the night is going to cause any significant problems for a vehicle on charge. Thinking of power cuts though, it's been a very long time since I experienced one at all (probably over 15 years), let alone one that lasted the whole night so do you really think that's a likely scenario?

Power cuts are also exceedingly rare in MC. All that happens is it takes a bit of time for the warehouse lights to restart and all the sorting machines have to be rebooted. Any sequencing batches that were being run on a CSS have to be restarted

Perhaps that was what used up most of the 75K litres of fuel used and the business didn't realise they weren't just idling in the yards but doing regens!!

Idling can be brought on from congestion, traffic lights, zebra crossing, gated entrance, roadworks, bin men, little old ladies crossing the road, pretty much anything that makes u stop the vehicle. A bit like the georoute where there is no room for natural circumstances!
You could always switch the engine off when going downhill to make up for it, but doubt it will confuse the Trimble..!
