So it has nothing to do with fuel crisis/mail volume dropping off or finally paying people the money they were legally entitled to (which I’m guessing amounts to a very large amount of our profit).

The trouble with management at any huge organisation is that they always pin the blame on others. However I think the CWU is just as culpable with this shambles of a agreement that for many has made the job either unpalatable or so difficult that I doubt even Mo Farah could run round doing some of the rounds in the allotted times.

We may doubt that Mo Farah could complete the workload but we know, since it was tested and proved by a National Newspaper in Moya "TrainWreck" Greens' revision some years ago that a Royal Marine Comando Fitness Instructor couldn't do it and that was just one try, never mind day after day and week after years and years.

And that was before the massive new growth in delivery points and massive shift to online shopping etc.

They could've taken that as a 'shot accross the bows' to get their s**t together and get real but they chose delusion and lies.

I’m really not a fan of the union at the moment but....did they not put the proposed new agreement (including revisions) to a vote?

Voted no so did my partner , most ptimers voted yes knowing theyd be made up in hours . Not knowing what was to come .

PTer here who voted no. However 91.5% of those who voted, were in favour of the agreement.

Part timer here voted "no" because I have a brain.

Most people who voted "yes" did so because they were only interested in a pay rise and they fell for Terry's verbal diarrhoea about the 'deal of the centuary'.

Royal Mail can quite easily force through these revisions but thats not the issue because if its a rushed revision that is not done well then it would be far better for the company not to have a revision at all.

I've experienced quite a few revisions in my time as a postie that have really not gone well. The last time we had planners that come in they rushed all the duties with street numbers all jumbled up and even whole new builds that they didn't account for. Personally, I couldn't think of a worse time to start a revision just 2 months before our busiest time of the year.

I'm glad that Simon mentions "quality" as it is something that has been sadly lacking. For months, managers have been using the pandemic and staff sickness as reasons for failed duties etc etc. when in reality it is due to the fact that Royal Mail have basically stopped recruiting temps and paying out decent overtime to do the job. Managers have resorted to double and triple lapsing and I'm not against that but when you come back from a delivery and find nearly 2 duties worth of mail and packets still left in the frame, why are there not questions being asked?? And the reality is that while managers believe that they are saving on costs doing this; ask any postie how demoralising it is to be tasked with delivering 2 lots of mail and packets, if they have not thought or actually gone on sick with stress or fatigue because that is what the company is forcing upon us. But its ok according to Simon, you should just speak to your manager

As for the share price, didn't it run up massively because of the pandemic with people ordering more parcels than ever before? Managing costs will always be a challenge because we have too many non-productive managers in the business and because everything we do now is in a van, which requires fuel, and there just happens to be a fuel shortage and a possible driver shortage. Just think how much the company would save if it went back to posties going out on pushbikes and in their own cars and just having parcel drivers delivering the shoebox plus size parcels...

But wait they were talking about this not so long ago??

Interesting that according to Super Si, UBS have decided to believe what the frontline workers are saying and to ignore what the CEO is saying. Maybe Super Si should also listen to what the frontline workers are saying, and not to the crap that he is being fed.

The difference is this time they're using our words as a tool to hold Simon accountable to the agreed promise of 400 revisions by November. For me it just highlights the fact there are entities that will use your words against you to further their own purposes.

To allude that the opinions on here are the cause of this decision, is twisting the narrative. Again, a tool with which to hold us to account, and to press on with the incessant drive for rapid transformation and profit.
