Yep they can go back home and watch daytime tv until little Timmy needs picking up from the school 200 metres down the road. Whilst we WORKERS and unfurloughed try our best to keep this country on its feet so the rich and privileged can continue living their fancy pants lives while we all wear ourselves out for them.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 14:50I'm hoping so, presumably all the panic buyers have now got full tanks so they won't be going for any more for a few weeks.

Re: Fuel crisis
Does anybody think it's a poor show for Royal Mail to penalize employees who can't get to work due to the fuel crisis?

Re: Fuel crisis
Two guys in my office (that i know of) take their vans home everyday because they do overtime. They both live over 10 miles away from the office.rubberbond wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 17:58I presume that people take vans home because there are issue around parking, security etc at individual offices , so they’re probably safer continuing with what they are doing.
Its nothing to do with parking or security. Meanwhile people like me are driving our own cars to work and then having to pay £3 a day to park in the multi-storey.

Unless BoJob sends in the army first.
The Guardian (Sept. 26, 2021) ~ Boris Johnson to Consider Using Army to Supply Petrol Stations
Hundreds of soldiers could be scrambled to deliver fuel to petrol stations running dry across the country due to panic buying and a shortage of drivers under an emergency plan expected to be considered by Boris Johnson on Monday.
The prime minister will gather senior members of the cabinet to scrutinize “Operation Escalin” after BP admitted that a third of its petrol stations had run out of the main two grades of fuel, while the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA), which represents almost 5,500 independent outlets, said 50% to 90% of its members had reported running out. It predicted that the rest would soon follow.

We were never key workers, only essential workers which means you’ll still have join the back of the queue and fight off the ne'er-do-well’s at the pumps!chickenwittle wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 08:26Maybe the government will invoke key worker priority, I wonder if we will be counted as key workers like we were during the pandemic, I doubt it.

I'd much rather non-key workers get off the roads entirely as in Spring 2020. Driving was a delight with roads looking like 28 Days Later and fuel was at less than a pound per litre. Those were the dayschickenwittle wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 08:26Maybe the government will invoke key worker priority, I wonder if we will be counted as key workers like we were during the pandemic, I doubt it.
