Will or can things change with Royal Mail HQ being active on the site?

It is fair to say that those in the 'top jobs' come in for a lot of criticism on this forum, please post constructive criticism and nothing else. Any libellous or slanderous posts will be deleted or amended, in no way should these personalities have any abuse aimed at them, period.
They seem to be extra active on here now, and they are using posts from here 'in a good way' which is very welcome.

Things like that can only help our colleagues across the business, so let's do 'OUR' best to do that in a proactive and professional way while sticking to the rules and at the same time hopefully sticking it to problems we face on a daily basis.
As per my announcement.

I can't stop them coming on here, if I could would I? should I?
Silent assassin or school headmaster?
Is this a different CEO? A different business? Is it all face?
It does seem on the face of it that it's all about the market and the share price, search RMCtv on here for details.
Where's the ''Op Flash' about this and that? Or is it all about the few on Workplace?
How many more questions for christs sake?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It is difficult to be Positive and be Brilliant when your office looks like Beirut.
I don't want to be part of it.

My "Team" is more like Lance Armstrong's US Postal Service Team.

If you follow the team ethos of win at all costs and everyone other than Lance is a disposable asset then you're a valued member, if you don't you're shunned, harassed and eventually disposed of. I don't think there's performance enhancing drugs involved because performance is so poor but there are plenty of dopes around.

This might seem like a light hearted comment but it genuinely is that toxic, there are about half a dozen "personalities" who bully the majority of staff not in spite of management but because they are useful to management. They act as enforcement in return for favours like cushy overtime and a blind eye to misdeeds.

Sound extreme? I would imagine there's a version of this in almost every office in the country.

After more than 30 years most of them as a rep of one kind or another I no longer want any part of this "team".

Sorry Postman but I doubt anyone could find a good way to use this comment.

I don't think anything will change. I believe Simon is just following the 'how to be a successful CEO' guide. His actions i've seen before, the restructure, rebranding, more marketing, surveys, and the "we're changing" speech.

Royal Mail isn't just any delivery company, it's a postal company that wants to change, and needs to change. It needs a leader not from a successful company, no matter how successful it was, it needs a leader that has experience at the bottom, and experience in the postal sector.

RM's new marketing/image has not been very good imo. The message about what we offer doesn't get across. Simon talks of trust on the doorstep, a good selling point, but most people aren't really bothered about it, they just want a good reliable service. However i remain sceptical, and the trust on the doorstep speech is just to keep posties on his side by giving the impression that the company cares about us.

The company could change by reading this forum. But Simon needs to dig very deep into his teams and lower end managers to find where the weak links are. The lying and manipulation is standard procedure in RM, so just looking at graphs and stats isn't going to allow him to make informative decisions on what to do.

I do understand he has got it hard, the Union and Ofcom both very stubborn, but the bottom line staff have it harder, that's the only certainty i know of within this company right now.

Day off tomorrow, (tuesday, what a surprise), double on Weds probably. Expect late Specials and unscanned Tracked Simon if i have double. Your managers cause this, not me.

Nothing will change!
Uncle Terry and his minions would have told them that we are all militant union/management bashers and are all a bunch of looneys who like nothing better than to post crap about shape shifting lizards.... which lets face it most of them are.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Hopefully they will read what the real workers of the once great service have to put up with on a daily basis. Also why we won't go to the bullshit "Workplace" app which is all for the do gooders. I had been on there but came off, its all pro management and not highlighting the daily crap real post people have to endure from incompetent, bullying managers.

I used to be proud working for this once great service over 41 years but not now.

Absolutely not, the vast majority of people on here are open and honest in there opinions about what goes on in the company and don't need to sugarcoat anything for the top brass unlike the layers of management below the CEO who from the Line Manager up are scared of the next layer above so will adjust facts and figures so as to not look incompetent or completely useless until information gets all the way up to the CEO.
As far as Mr Thompson is probably aware is that everything is fine and dandy in all the DO's with no B&H or walks failing miserably everyday.
Still if thats what he wants to believe then that is his downfall I will still be here long after he has fell off his perch and working under yet another CEO who See's Nothing, Hear's Nothing and as usual Does Nothing.

Will things change?
Possibly but not probably just because RMHQ are active on this site.
For a start it would require open and honest dialog.
This won't happen because of the potential fallout from an admission that..

...B&H is not only rife, ingrained and institutionalised but integral to the running of RM

...management bonuses are a key driver to B&H and sharp practices that undermine hard won agreements.

..the procedures for reporting B&H are at best window dressing and lip service and lead to a target painted on complainants' backs.

... and that is for starters.
Nail on the head.

If only we were MILITANT, we might have had a better pay rise and a manageable workload.
