In my DO the manager very rarely comes in so we have 2 assistant DOMs who couldn't organise the proverbial pee up, eg. today we failed to even get all the mail sorted up let alone delivered (of course the MC sent all the mail down in bags). Monday will be a laugh because we have 8 yorks of MS plus all Saturday's work plus all that will come in on Sunday/Monday (plenty of relief for my on Monday as I'm on the longest duty in the office (6 1/2 hour delivery))
I'm preparing myself for the zombie invasion, rule number 1 - Cardio

Same story in London Yorks full of packets and parcels all over the place. Nobody told Royal Mail about internet shopping. Is it true they are buying a job lot of carrier pigeons or is it carrying pigs or road going Yorks or pigs carrying Yorkie bars or packet carrying pigs pulling Yorks or will they blame strikes at the beginning iof last October. Layiton and Dozier couldn't run a whelk stall their whole careers are based on lies, crises and blaming others for their failure. Their latest idea is sacking people who call a scab a scab maybe they would prefer a workforce of lying yesmen.

i've got an eye on you F***Al and MADam

I kept telling the managers, watch out for XMAS, it going to be massive on the packets. There are more and more people going online. Bollocks to that get your d2d'r done and stop moaning.
Yes, that is exactly what I would expect. These people are shortsighted and incompetent.
Royal Mail management thrives on blunders. The problem is these t*****s need to be dragged to the job centre and replaced with someone with a brain.
.Trouble is, the managers only see whats in front of them that day, no more no less. Very poor management, and it starts right at the top...........APPLAUSE............

Online shopping is here to stay and the sooner RM managemet stop looking to cut staff and money for the sake of their bonuses the better. We are a public service run by the worst and greediest of modern management.

There are lies, damn lies and Royal Mail statistics

People buy things on line -well I never -DOH!-Xmas is busy
Anywhere else you would be joining her , that's what you are paid for , that's where the buck stops and you'd be "persuaded" to take a "alternative career choice "warlord wrote:greynut wrote:brothermagrew wrote:Clearly it looks as if the vast increase of online ordering of goods has well and truly caught Royal Mail on the hop.

The first problem is the style it's all "authority " and no responsibility, not that the PO has ever been much good anyway . Even when RM cocks up as they quite often do ! , Senior & Area just blame their junior managers , but who was giving the orders in the first place ? .Any half decent manager with any initative and gumption wouldn't last five minutes because of the fear culture you get with a bad corporate version of the old Management Control System .
Just the worst of the old GPO and Leighton's "Brave New World " . Must be the ultimate job though, just tell Big Al what he wants to hear , a dumb culture that's easy to play . Idiot !

--this is what you get with these two in charge , wonder if Big Al's going to get a appalling toupee like that fella ?politics -showbiz for the ugly , powermad & inadequate

Managers!!! what a waste of ££££'s
Been in tonight (new years day) I got in at 7pm to find 3 drivers have been in since 4pm with their runs canceled but the transport manager not letting them off until they had sat on their backsides for the whole 8 HOUR shift
My run only had 6 rsc's down and run back empty with a artic 400mile round trip!!!
Best Laugh was got back to my RDC and the night shift + Agency= 65 in total that started at midnight were stood around with no work to seg/sort/load so they have sent them home at 3am
easy money for those guys if you forget the mess about factor but what a waste of money if you include the 48 artics that ran only a 1/3rd full 1 way only new years day.
No wonder :cfo :lfo are pleading RM poverty if they waste that sort of cash, but its our kin pension cash
