To be honest its comforting to know that some of the more constructive criticisms made on here could actually be read and taken on board rather than just being a place to rant into the void.

Absolutely Acca! As CharlesG said above, the views here are, by and large, an open and honest reflection of the realities were facing, rather than anyone piping ideas and ideals. I'm not on Workplace, so don't know about what's being said there, (hopefully we'll find out more in this thread), but it seems as though the divide could be lessened. As POSTMAN alluded to, Simon seems to be taking an interest...I'm forever hopeful.... Shall I puff my pipe again?

Another fine cut off day because of an unmanageable workload.

To give the man some credit, hes looking at EVERYTHING Royal Mail to the change the company even here, Could we ever imagine Rico doing such a thing?
With this board being more honest about the reality maybe things will start to happen for the better?
Like not putting posties out on the street at 3pm when its 30 oc?

We are providing a poor service and he knows it , these revisions haven’t evened up the workload they have just given everyone more in less time . Cut offs are being hidden by taking out halves of walks etc. As the rest don’t count as a failure.

Surely only taking out 1 of the 2 duties is going down as a failure, if not that’s bollocks. I’m a reserve and every day whatever I’m put on we can only manage 1 of the duties plus tracked parcels off other duty roughly, was fine until the revision came in and made the rounds huge, god help us at Christmas if nothings done about it.

As long as they can get at least half of a duty taken out then they can avoid calling it a cut off , they are failing everywhere yet are obsessed with saving hours , it’s fraud in any other line of work.

surely a frame is a duty - taking out one frame and leaving the other in isnt failing half a duty

All failures need to be reported. You can fail any amount of delivery points on a frame so if a walk has 700 delivery points then 350 should be failed on the End of Day Report.
Ofcourse this is not been done fully in most offices, my own included i know for a fact
However when it comes to next year and they plan to make savings based on this year’s figures they will not be able to reach the targets that they are setting.
Oh well.

Great that Simon's been reading these posts.
Unfortunate that he keeps banging on about trust.
Means I cannot trust him at all.
Especially as I will lose my walk in the revision, costing me plenty of money (!thanks) and causing me untold stress.

Re the few posts above, my view is it doesn't matter if it's reported or not. The fact it still goes on just creates more stress all round and consequently offices will have less and less staff, a vicious circle. New starter retaining figures will be insanely low, and with companies crying out for staff elsewhere, people will jump ship without a second thought, let alone giving a month's notice.

A letter stating we need work harder when many of us are too tired or stressed to, and it's quiet at the moment too, is just a nail in the coffin for Simon's career at RM i feel. I think he's just reading from, 'how to be a CEO 101'. Cut admin staff, change image, new uniform, say we're changing, and ask employees to work harder. I've seen this exact strategy twice before, both times it failed.
