Simon, this thread has (so far) generated 10 pages, well over 100 posts, all pretty much saying the same thing. Here's a suggestion: leave the posties alone to do their jobs while you sort out once and for all what is causing ALL your problems and all the backlash from the posties......middle management trying to justify their jobs by making working life virtually impossible for posites....and YOU Simon.

In reality the basics of this job could not - and could never have been....easier. You collect an item from 'A' and you deliver it as addressed to 'B'. That's it.

Who in their right minds could have imagined in their wildest dreams that middle management could have made this simple task so difficult.

Simon, you need to eradicate the cause before the solution can be implemented.

I thought it was such a genuine gesture to send a letter to privacy of my own home, start off with some some of threat in bold letters and told I need to do more.
Talk about a PR disaster.Doesnt someone actually say hmm probably best if we just change some of the stuff here,or best not to send it at all?
I could write pages and pages on the failings here but to Me it's simple, at RM I am a nothing more then a clichéd number.
Why should I bother when the workforce have been treated with utter contempt for the past 2 years during covid?
It's alright though I'm sure everything will be a ok when you have to talk to the shareholders.

Unbelievably ill judged letter at this time when vast majority of workers are on their knees and a lot have just had enough. Surely there must be some kind of union response this week to this!?

Union? There's still a union? There used to be one, but they vanished in a puff of smoke. :nervous :left:

I like how this thread is gaining traction :nana keep posting the truth folks
Simon needs to see this thread, and know what us postmen and women truly think and feel about how things are working for this company right now. The anger his letter to the “team” has generated is clear from the number of responses on here.

For me it's beyond anger it is the final straw. It is an absolute insult. No more extended delivery from me. I work my time until I resign. I cannot comprehend how a leader of such a large company could be so unaware of the front line situation and then to post something like that to his under siege workers. Words fail me.

Got my letter from Simon today. :cuppa

Read it, spat out my coffee, and shoved it into my paper shredder. :thumbup
Hope you put the shredded bits into an envelope and sent them back to him.
I sure did. Then I popped that envelope into a Royal Mail damage/apology bag and dropped it into a collection box. :Applause :chuckle

Thinking about it a bit more, the only thing that really surprises me is that the letter doesn't have the CWU logo and Terry's signature on it as well.

I seem to remember Rico sent us a letter. Do you remember that?

You'd think that this one would, but the silence has been deafening.

This is more than just silence or negligence now. It’s gone on way too long. Something far more sinister is at work.
Perhaps terry ran out of custard creams.
