Would live to see Simon spend a few weeks as a postie, see how he copes.

Absolutely clueless. How these mediocre grifters always manage to fail upwards is a stain on modern Britain
Same here, I'd love to see that episode of undercover boss, but they'd just send him to a pre arranged "courier office"

The thing that pisses me off most. The very wording of the phrase "Don't just clear your frame, clear your office!" This is directly aimed at delivery staff. Once again we are the scapegoats for all the failings in Royal Mail. It's all the fault of Delivery!
"Just take it out and see how you go......."

I helped to clear my office today by taking my own personal mail because it got bought back, along with about 30-40 other loops

We are still staffing our office by planning on lapsing 7 jobs on a busy bank holiday week. Of course, we don't have time for it. The truth is we don't even have time for our own jobs when the workload is like this week. Managers are practically begging people to take it out, some do it on overtime, some bring it back but doesn't get reported as failures. Plan to fail...

Hope he reads this thread. Sooooo hopelessly out of touch with the reality in most offices. Why are these offices failing to clear? Erm it's not rocket science, it's because they are under staffed. Revisions are not making rounds equal, they are just making EVERY full timer start 15 mins later. Result, EVERY worker gets out 15 mins later, unless the office puts extra resources on overtime in the morning to sort, kinda not the point of saving an hr a week and not what the company had in mind. The impossible rounds are even more impossible now. Worrying that it looks like they are not going to staff adequately with agency at Christmas, I can see major office failures ahead and all of this with exciting things like us taking multitude parcel labels out for unlimited parcel collection! Wtf. They'll be getting collected at the end of my delivery. There will be no space in the van until then. Knocking on the door at 5pm in the dark when someone has waited in all day for you, yeah that's gonna catch on with the paying customers. He's living in a rose tinted cloud cuckoo land and I hope he's reading this.

It's okay if you test positive for covid, the manager will tell you to come in anyway (because we're busy) until you get a 2nd test done to confirm a positive or get a negative.... I kid ye not.

Well the letter doesn't start off great does it? "Clear your office, not just your frame". Is that a title, an order, a request or a wish? A wish that we were in "a better place right now". Like a magical field full of rainbows and light. Look Mum! There's a unicorn! Ahhh...Lovely!.

But meantime in the real world, with the runners in the starting blocks ready to explode out like a gang of Amazon drivers on crystal meth, and the finishing line in sight, I somehow don't think that 'doing a little extra' or 'helping out' is gonna fly. Now, where's me pipe....(PUFF)....Ahhh....That's better!

Honestly wtf does he expect? When you're talking 1-2hrs extra to clear your frame, does he expect you to want to come back at 5pm take a look around the office and hoover up the left overs until it either gets dark , it gets to be the next day, or you just generally collapse from exhaustion? Wonder how much extra your average DOM or lino does ...... exactly!

Blah blah blah rhubarb rhubarb drivel
self serving opinion yadda yadda drone drone
Bollocks shite rubbish cant obfuscation etc

We are now giving you MORE WORK by delivering on Sunday
and MORE WORK collecting covid tests and on XMAS DAY TOO as we like a good laugh at ruining people's Xmases up here in cloud cuckold land.

We will continue giving you MORE WORK delivering prescriptions, we dont see why people should have to do anything if we can remedy the slight inconvenience by dishing out MORE WORK.

We have improved out Parcel collect service by making the customer do EVEN LESS and making you WORK EVEN MORE with the potential of NO END OF WORK to do.

Our new RM app will give us the opportunity increase TRUST AT THE DOORSTEP by something we wont tell you about until it's too late. (Hint MORE WORK)

And if you think we have forgotten our colleagues in the CPs and call centres think again, MORE WORK in the shape of longer hours all round for you lot.

TBC
Yes, super motivating. On what planet would this get a positive reaction. Yes sir three bags full. Whoever oked this needs firing. It just shows the utter incompetence at the top. They have no idea what is going on at the coal face.

We normally have 4 managers sitting around drinking coffee when we leave. Can they not be 'allowed' to clear the office? They're apparently not allowed too. Surely if we're all in it together......

If I got home from work and a manager called to tell me to remember my lapsing the next day it would be classed as harrassment.

Yet this moron can send out this letter to my house for me to read in my own time about how he expects me to do more work, and to imply that any failure in the office is down to me.

Things are not as they were pre-Covid. IPS is f****d with only half the staff able to do it, parcel levels remain through the roof, lapsing is still expected, and the 300+ new builds since the last revision are still not allocated to a duty!

Meanwhile Mr f***ing Pullinger remains both silent and invisible.

My first task of the day on my next day off is to phone HR and cancel my union subs.

How about a 2 for 1 deal? You get to clear 2 frames for the price of 1. :nana
