Tracked might be two different weightings, large and small. Don't know about in DOs but in MCs we have different streams on the PDAs for large and small. I don't think RM have yet got the reporting software updated yet to do a large and small breakdown yet.

With the Covid kits those scanning them have to write down the number of them that they've scanned. Surely it wouldn't have been too hard for RM to have gotten a Covid kit Tracked mail stream added to the PDAs
No separate streams in our DO at the moment. I wonder what the IT bods do all day? Or is it just one IT bod, working on this system as a sideline to other jobs? The screen rotation issue still hasn't been fixed. How hard/time consuming can that be to implement?

I've nothing against Royal Mail trying to utilise hours. If I ran a business and several staff members were regularly leaving an hour early then I would find them more work to do so that they work up to their time. It is quite ironic that many of them are probably working their hours by coming in early anyway, but thats up to them.

The problem arises when you lapse "loads of frames" and loads of frames don't get delivered that day. I was off last week and parts of the duty didn't go out for days on end and I've had "loads of complaints" - like what is happening at Royal Mail? Are we on strike? But as long as Royal Mail have found that unique balance of always putting profits before their own customers, thats ok. Just deliver the tracked items and don't worry about delivering any loops that might contain letters that we have a USO on.

I would say to RmTV same sh*t, different spokesperson. Sick absences will still be high but it won't be due to Covid or the Pingdemic; it will be due to your staff feeling knackered and rather demoralised that they are walking in somehow expecting to deliver 2 days worth of mail, D2Ds and packets in one day.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

That could possibly be an issue with Android and not the RM software

Well, who's responsible for the admin on the platform? I'd do it myself but the settings are blocked.

Probably Sheffield. AFAIK the only bit anywhere on any of the RM software that needs the screen to rotate is the signature capture screen, maybe also the camera when taking photos of where something has been delivered to. RM need to get the PDA to surpress/block auto rotate when the PDA isn't being used for either of them two functions

What an absolutely incredible video... Anyone know who the presenter was ? As I watched I couldn't help asking " you've done your time on delivery then...day after day, month after month, year after year after year walking miles and climbing stairs in all weathers ? "

I don't mind a bit of hard graft...leaves me feeling clean at the end of a day. I can just about manage my own duty most days and can't see how on earth I could manage more frames  Give delivery a try before telling colleagues they're lazy ((which is how I read your presentation) ...it ain't easy out there in the real world !

PS : I think we need to take a good hard look at how we record traffic coming into delivery offices...
Here here. I seriously think some of these people NEED to spend at least a week on delivery. Even the “easy” days now are exhausting, and to think they want us to do ever more more more is so demoralising.

Only rotates on lock screen necessitating that you point the PDA upwards to unlock. I did have the rather cynical thought that perhaps this was by design, and that RM were capturing image data as a result of this. I'll put the tin foil hat away now shall I.... :chuckle

Unfortunately RM (intentionally?) make it difficult for mail recipients to complain that they've not had mail for days (on end),
and that's where failures get brushed under that big carpet.

The customers (mail recipients) usually end up complaining to us the next day we're seen on delivery or
they go to the local Post Office to complain, who obviously have nothing to do with mail delivery.

But they can’t hide it from Ofcom.

It needs to be reported first!!

Clear your office, not just your frame....what f**king planet is Simon Thompson (CEO) on?? The only items being delivered on a daily basis consistently are Tracked parcels

All Royal Mail are doing right now is lapsing duties for the sake of lapsing duties, and guess what? Its not getting delivered. The managers have stopped paying out overtime to get it covered either. They prefer to leave it for the next day for some muppet to run round and deliver 2 days worth of mail in one day.

Problem solved....except its not. Posties are pi**ed off and knackered that they are forced to do this.
