When do Full Time hours get reduced?

Post by norris9 »

I understand those on ~37 hours or something are going to be reduced down to 35 hours? anyway.....

When is this all happening?

and..... I also understand Part Timers will get a pay rise when this happens. What is the extra monthly £ increase for someone on a 30 hour contract?

The reduction in hours in done by office when your manager and union decide on where and how they can reduce the hours.

PT don't get a pay increase in terms of money per week or month, their hourly rate goes up.

Probably the way they'll do it is 4 days of the week you'll start 1/4 of an hour later or 2 days of the week you'll start 1/2 an hour later

Its full timers whose weekly/monthly pay doesnt go up. The loss of an hour with the same weekly pay means out hourly rate has increased. Therefore part timers hourly rate increases in line with this and therefore their weekly take home does go up.

Contracted hours only?

Otherwise if it includes overtime then some people will be on a higher rate than others.

EVERYONE. IS. ON. THE. SAME. HOURLY. RATE. OF. PAY!!!!!
On implementation of a revision, full time get an hour off, part time a corresponding pay rise as they're working the same hours as before.
Pro rata.
Shall I draw a diagram?
Use words of one syllable?
Jesus wept.

No they aren't. Those that have already gone over to the 37hr week will be on a higher rate of pay than those who've not gone over yet

Like I said-on implementation of a revision.
The intimation in previous posts was part time/full time being on different rates.

Once on 37hrs full time , 1st 10 hrs overtime rate is now 20p LESS per HR than contract hrs. Do more than 10 hrs and it's even less. What other business pays you less hr rate for overtime?

A revision makes everyone go onto the new pay rate, so if you are playing the splitting hairs game you are technically correct, until all revisions are done people will be on different rates. But those within an office that has undergone a full revision will be at the same rate.

This site is really starting to pee me off.
People either don't read even 2 or 3 posts above what they've just read ( where their answer usually is), or ask just plain stupid questions and expect others to find their answer.
Or split hairs, just for the sake of it.
