RMCtv : Manager " For 10 years CWU peeps have had better pay rises than us : Simon Thompson : " Sort this crap out, makes us a shed load of money, let's spend on the business, and we may then share it with you...



Manager 1 : In the last 10 years, CWU pay and conditions have improved tremendously, whilst junior and middle managers p & c have stagnated. This has eroded the trust between us and the senior management team. What assurances can you give that this disparity will end and improvements made?

Manager 2 : We've had over 23% of rises in the last ten years. May be less than the CWU but we are starting from a higher base. Are people genuinely aggrieved that this hasn't been "enough"?

Manager 1 : At no point did I say we do not get paid ‘enough’, however as managers we have had to lead our people through amazingly difficult times. We are now on 4 hours more, have received steadily decreasing bonuses, new frontline managers not getting assistant or Dom’s allowances, all while CWU grades receive more each year. 2011 1.6%, 2012 2.4%, 2013 3%, 2014 3%, 2015 1.6%, 2016 1.3%, 2018 5%, 2019 2.6%, 2020 2.7%.

I want to know what managers have been leading anyone!? Mine certainly only leading each other to mcdonalds or to the kettle. Yes, that's right, managers in my office use company vehicles to go mcdonalds.

If it makes them feel better i'll get some "well done" cards from HR to give them and i'll personally sign them to show i care.

imo your all overpaid and try getting a managers job somewhere else but you would have to work for a living
leading the workers ? my arse the only thing you do is sort a pre lapsing plan and try to bullying staff into taking extra work , and believe me during this covid the posties made the job work and bent over backwards when managers at ours finished on time and went home
and why would you deserve a bonus for failing at your job ?

Why would Managers want a better paid rise when most of them are doing post workers work on a daily working day ask anyone who works in a mail centre or Hub its seems common practices for Shift Managers pushing York containers on the shop floor

rough maths on those figures puts us at a 19% rise over 10 years, so less than the managers then.

Management in Royal Mail are paid far more than equivalent roles with their competitors.

Line manager which is basically supervisor or "team leader" would be lucky to make £15 ph anywhere else....bonuses.

There's a saying if you pay peanuts you get monkeys, we're paying way above the market value...and still getting monkeys.
