Transformation Agreement between UNITE/CMA and Royal Mail Group
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Maybe more like nightclub stewards...watching over the unruly posties, ready to pounce! I'm sure lots of them love a bit of clubbing, figuratively speaking.noggin1969 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2021, 20:15Bar stewards of a toxic cultureManagers are the stewards of a company's culture..![]()

Managers shouldn't even need to hassle honest Posties day after day telling them they can complete in time, or can do lapsing etc etc....
The company can make savings elsewhere with the use of common sense.
You hassle Posties again and again, they will lose you money elsewhere, they will go off with stress, they will stop doing the job properly, they are probably more likely to have a road traffic accident, they are likely to quit and you will have to pay out again to retrain and re-uniform a new Postie.
Why not have a happy workforce that enjoys the job, knows they can come into a stress free environment where they are trusted to do an honest days work and decide for themselves what mail to take out with them without being questioned. Yes, you will get the odd Postie taking the piss, but just prove it with the PDA data showing them sitting around for half an hour etc and get them out the door if they repeatedly take the michael.
I think the rate at which people leave the company would go down drastically if the workforce was trusted.
I'd be happy if we just came into work with a set frame to prep and deliver and we had to deliver that round that day. Whether it takes 2 hours or 7. And we get paid a set daily wage no matter how long it took. It would take away all the arguments. It would take away the lapsing. It would take away the overtime. If you don't think a set daily wage would work, how about we get a set daily wage paid up until 1.30pm and have a clock out system for anytime worked after this.
It should be so easy to wipe out the whole issue with trust, harassment, bullying this way, and you will have a much happier workforce who will stick with the company for much much longer.

What you mean is go back to the way it used to be. Well that isn’t ever going to happen with it now being a privatised entity ,because all that matters is profit and shareholder returns.
