Royal mail covid safety so having

Post by Iva bigredbag »

So having worked through the last few weeks I can say 100% that RM do not care iota about the health and safety of their employees. Despite being advised there should be masks worn indoors and social distancing, RM totally ignore this and let anyone choose what they want. Complete failure to make their do covid safe. Covid is spreading through the country fast vaccinated and unvaccinated people are dying, becoming seriously ill and rm do nothing to make their do safe. Regardless of any government laws on masks social distancing, it is criminal negligence that RM do nothing to protect their employees. I would say of any postie catches covid from work and becomes seriously ill they should sue RM for negligence. Absolutely the worst employer at protecting its employees health and safety. And the union once again roll over and let them do it.

They are only following the rules Boris has set. It will be interesting to see how long it is before the ambulance chasing solicitors start going after firms for negligence where it can be proven somebody contracted Covid at work.

Criminal negligence. An employer must ensure their workplace is safe. I think the number of current infections and deaths could be used as good evidence that RM have neglected to make their workplace safe, add to that government guidance that for indoor workplaces masks should've worn and social distancing should done, as well as good ventilation. RM have failed on all those points of guidance, they literally do not care if you catch covid, even worse they are making sure their do maximise the chance of you catching covid. Compete failure at the top of rm, all for greed. This company is a bad company to work for. If you can then I would recommend finding another job.

Social distancing was never going to happen all the time. A lot of the time it's just physically impossible

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Why Royal Mail doesn’t make Mask wearing inside the office mandatory is beyond me.
Complacency kills and just because you have two jabs it doesn’t excuse RM from providing a safe working environment.
Have you considered to start later to avoid the Covid CessPit?

You are right ,RM really don’t care if you catch it and will just pay you off after six months if you are unable to work.

You'd think when reading the above posts that it is august 2020, unbeleivable that one year on and RM are still ignoring basic H&S in many offices up and down the country.

I think it was possible in do’s and mc’s…where there’s a will there’s a way…. we managed it in my work area which is probably one of the tightest for space versus opgs in the whole organisation…

I’m glad to see the back of masks. If people are scared then they can wear a mask and start later when everyone else is out the office if they want. We’ve had our jabs so now it’s time to get back to normal or we’ll live like this forever.

Masks issued stated non medical for party use only, so what was the point in wearing them.

Having witnessed what Long Covid does to a person, wearing a mask at a workplace is the very least a Multi National Company like Royal Mail should be making mandatory.

RM have obviously thought about this but have made it up to the individual to protect themselves.

But Should a person become seriously ill with Covid after an outbreak at a RM workplace and have not been wearing a mask then this would seriously impact any claim of negligence.

The mask and PPE are provided but YOU did not choose to wear them!

How many people are wearing mask?
Yes, RM will save a fortune from thrown out Court Claims.

Covid is the new normal and when people are off sick 3 times a year with Covid then RM will make mask mandatory.

It's not about being scared, it's about collective responsibility for each other's wellbeing, and respect.
Remember the main benefits of wearing a face covering is to reduce the risk of transmission from the wearer to others.

Covid is just small fry compared to the problems that we're going to have with flu this year. I was reading that our immunity to flu has been compromised because of social distancing and masks. Also it's meant that the scientists haven't been able to get the proper data set of which variants of flu so they won't know what variants of flu there currently are and so which variants to do the flu jabs for.

There's probably other viruses that we've now lost some immunity to as well

The RM provided ones aren't rated for medical use, it states that on them

Let's be honest if "safety measures" were enforced we would still be delivering xmas cards now.
