Is this really a legitimate question? Obviously we're not working on Christmas Day, or New Years Day.

The pertinent question is will we get the substitute Bank Holidays off. Scotland didn't get their substitute bank holiday this year, when 2nd of Jan fell on a Saturday but was substituted to Monday the 4th.

Saturday the 2nd was a "non-service" day, and Monday was the bank holiday, but they worked the Monday.

Based on previous years, I believe

25th & 26th will be inservice days. We get them off.
27th & 28th will be Bank Holidays. We get them off.

Nothing delivered or collected on 25th.
Covid kits will probably need to be delivered on 26th. Maybe Tracked 24 parcel but probably not.
27th & 28th will need covid kits to be delivered. Maybe Lat type parcels too.

1st Jan will be an inservice days. We get it off.
3rd will be the Bank Holiday. We get it off.

In scotland we get fecked out of a Bank Holiday (2nd) cos its not an English Bank Holiday.

They say confession is good for the soul, as obviously, you didn't mean to belittle a colleague.

There are no stupid questions, but there are plenty of pointless answers.

https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... c-holidays

England and Wales 2021
Saturday 25 December Christmas Day No collections or deliveries
Sunday 26 December Boxing Day No collections or deliveries
Monday 27 December Due to Christmas Day on Saturday No collections or deliveries
Tuesday 28 December Due to Boxing Day on Sunday No collections or deliveries

Can't find any for 2022 yet. but the Jan 2nd new year day for Scotland should be honoured looking at the above. So Scotland should be off till Wednesday the 5th I hope.

Saturday 25th will be a non service day so if it's your day off you're screwed over.

Sunday 26th will also be a non service day which this year could affect more people, Again if you're on a rota that includes Sunday and it happens to be your Sunday off you won't get it back.

Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th will be bank holidays, if it's your day off you'll get it back.

Saturday 1st January, again non service with the substitute bank holiday Monday 3rd.

Now Scotland on Sunday 2nd is an interesting one because this could be the last time we get it substituted to Tuesday 4th.

If the USO were to change to a 7 day service that includes Tracked items they would probably have to decide between Sunday 2nd or Tuesday 4th for a USO exemption but it's unlikely they would get both.

It would probably be Sunday 2nd because even though most staff would have been off anyway it would allow a complete shut down on the 2nd and bring the Scottish network into line with the rest of the country on the 4th, better for the business if not the members.

If there's still covid test kits going out by then, there's bound to be a few needed to process and deliver them. I can't see there being 5 days without them going through the system

Will the 4 days not delivering mean a busy week after or a busy week before the break?
