Re: Pay rise April 2022
MC staff are outnumbered by delivery staff by at least 2:1, probably more likely 3:1 by now so excellent, good, bad or s**t a deal might be it effectively gets voted in or our by delivery staffWoody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 03:27It was a great deal... for mailcentre staff but you're not facing what we're facing so with all due respect your comment is pretty irrelevant.aiden01 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2021, 23:29Still quite happy to have voted yes now ft after 26 yrs. Re: Pay rise April 2022
Not really interested in who voted it in SP.
That wasn't the point.
The point is if I was sitting in a mailcentre where there's no real hassle about workload or walking out the door come finish time I would probably think it was a great deal
Having said that I'd like to think I would understand that it wasn't such a great deal for everyone and try to show a little more understanding and a touch more class than jumping all over a post that you have no real understanding of.

Just that sometimes they lose sight of priorities for the frontline, and sell us down the river.
It's looking like this deal has shafted us. Again.

Re: Pay rise April 2022
hi-jacking this thread a little, can someone tell me what the current gross full time (38hr/37hr) basic pay including the delivery supplement is without any O/T, please. I'm P/T, but looking to be made up F/T in the current revision. Thanks

Re: Pay rise April 2022
Workloads are more closely monitored in MCs than in DOs. Every hour you see the managers counting up how many trays/yorks/sleeves of work there are available to be sorted for each stream in their section. Each work area has got its own budget, sometimes you'll get turned away from a work area if they've not got the hours available. Each shift also has its own budget, in addition to the overall MC budgetWoody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 15:02Not really interested in who voted it in SP.

Finish times are based around final dispatch times, so anything left at the end fails as it'l have missed the final dispatch.
We're always short on staff, we have what must be at least a dozen casuals every night.
It's always crazy at the end of a shift with everything being dispatched.
With DO staff outnumbering MC staff by at least 2:1 it didn't matter what we thought of the deal. We effectively had no say about it

Re: Pay rise April 2022
Why hasn’t this been addressed in your revision?. If the work is there it should be resourced with RM staff.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 19:38We're always short on staff, we have what must be at least a dozen casuals every night.

Re: Pay rise April 2022
Maybe because the revision was crap. we still have loads of agency on all shifts 5 weeks after realignment was done..Grumpyoldmailman wrote: ↑11 Aug 2021, 20:48Why hasn’t this been addressed in your revision?. Re: Pay rise April 2022
I think we can all agree regardless if we are MC staff or a delivery postie. Our deal of the century with backdated pay and additional 1% this year was at best mediocre and given how much everything is increasing in price this is effectively a reduction of pay. CPI shot up this summer and is on course to keep increasing for some time. Autumn energy cap being lifted will bring further blow to our disposable incomes. Not too mention yearly council tax increases, road tax you name it. SWW will effectively be a pay rise but it will not put more money in your pocket unless you are a part time employee. If the union leaders will fail to do anything about it. I think it will be high time to quit paying subs. On top of that we are due to have the revisions by the end of October. Doubt union will protect us from being shafted.

Re: Pay rise April 2022
If we did it probably wouldn't be paid till 2023 anyway, every pay rise seems to get back paid by many months. Probably so the leavers don't get it.
