What's going to be hilarious is when this whole love-in thing goes pear shaped (as it always does).

Are we still going to be magical when the revisions grind to a messy halt, the profits dry up, nobody gets the SWW and the pay offer for next year is the square root of f**k all.

Rise again!!.. Again!!! 😂😂

I think it will be around January/February next year.

We’ll see the atrocious revisions in place around September/October, just in time for the magical winter wonderland period. Then after we’ve done everything possible to get things delivered through the festive period despite the f**k up by the planners/reps, we’ll be hit with ‘profits are down, we need you to be better’ propaganda from our CEO and minions.

Terry and Dave will be polishing off the last of the Christmas turkey as they ask us to dust ourselves off for the fight of our lives part 47.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Practically every office will have issues with their revisions and will no doubt be offered a take it or it will be forced through anyways type of deal.
Remember we were all promised that there would be mutual agreements signed off at each stage? ;liar

Well after a long hiatus I wanted to chip in with my thoughts regarding our new CEO Simon Thompson. (The last time I posted on here Rico(glad to see the)Back(of) was the head honcho).

This is the most recent thread I can find without having to dig through the multitude of posts. So I wanted to say I'm quite impressed with the direction Simon 'seems' to be taking the Company. Yeah, smoke and mirrors and all that some of you will say.

But I must say I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of the Postie being the most trusted person at the doorstep(if you have the right character and belief/investment in the job). That's the advantage we have over other delivery companies. We're there every day, walking round the same streets, seeing the same people, building relationships. That's something the other companies don't have. I already said this in previous posts and was shot down as being idealistic.

With the introduction of the postal cadets, new uniforms and what I feel is a positive direction, is this not something we can feel enthusiastic about? God knows, we need SOME positivity after the last couple of years.

I definitely feel a more positive direction overall as compared with our last CEO, and I'm hopeful of building a company that will be at the forefront of delivery services. If you have a CEO who is trying to enable that, how can it be unless you have the Postie who believes in it? What will truly be magical will be Simon getting us onboard with the vision whilst satisfying the shareholders. At the moment, I'm hopeful...

(Awaits the onslaught)

I posted this is anther thread, but it fits with this one as well. Not an onslaught, but my thoughts on the CEO.

After the last "Trust" survey I actually ended up having a chat with the CEO.

He came across as a nice enough and fairly genuine person who was interested in what I had to say and did seem like he wants to change things. BUT, and it is a massive BUT - it was also quite obvious that he would rather believe what his minions and advisors tell him rather than someone who actually does the job. And the same detachment from reality applies to the CWU as much as it does to the company. All the time it is like that absolutely nothing will change for the better, and I can't see that happening.

Mr Thomas...
Have you actaully looked at the trust survey results.Moral in our office is the worst its ever been. DOM had meeting 4 weeks ago and since then nothing changed. If anything getting worse especailly as the issues r getting worse.Majoriy of staff enjoy there job.How do you expect staff to to trust RM.You need to visit offices between the hrs of 6am and 9 am....Then u see the s**t we got to put up with.I agree the workplace needs modernizing. I suggest you start with management re trainning .Dont forget it was us posties who got you through Covid.

How about giving us the time to be on the door step instead of the pda highlighting when weve been there for 60 seconds? Most of the time it feels like we have to knock and run to get done vaguely on time.

As Elvis sang:
Trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's arse.

Does that count as magic?

It's so magical working for Rm , lapsing everyday for the last 6 weeks and working extra hours to get everything done and they're not even paying me for it , they've screwed my pay up twice in the last few weeks. My day off tomorrow , looked at the rosta and my round says UNCOVERED , so i might have the joy of going in Saturday to double mail and a tonne of parcels , LACK OF STAFF again and again being a huge problem for Royal Mail but they don't seem to care about it , just wing it , and muddle along that's the way of RM.
