Office resign question

Post by toonshola »

Say your office has a full resign which clashes with your 2 weeks annual leave. Are you just forgotten about and return to work with all the duties gone and be left with nothing? Or does a resign take more than a couple of weeks?

You should be advised when it is approaching you in the seniority list and an effort made to contact you.
The only down side to this is that you could get spun a lie about what duties are actually available.
Do you know anyone who is just above you in the seniority list? If so ask them to keep you informed when it gets close to you.

That’s a good idea asking those just above me in the list to try keep me in the loop thanks.

The most senior gets to choose first, then the next senior & so on to least senior, is that how it works ? When it comes to your turn do you have to have a list of routes you're interested in or do you wait until time comes & you get time to look & decide ?

No. But in actuality... Yes.
If you know the re-sign is happening, don't let management forget you. Maybe stand still while holding a PDA - that'll get their attention.

Our office is in the process of going through a full resign at the moment and we have around 160 employees and what the union have said is that the top 64 most senior FT employees can pick any walk and then the most PT senior staff can pick there walks and any reserves or non driving staff high on seniority pick there shift and then from what I can gather is all PT staff get to chose the shifts that are left in terms off seniority! I hope that makes some sort of sense as I’ve never been through a full resign before!

Our van share are one full time and one part time - each pair has to be one of each. So some duties are designated full time and some are designated part time.

We were told also there is no part time duties as it’s all done on seniority - we were told once all the top 64 senior full timers had picked there shift then what was left over would be offered to part time staff! Is this correct even though they’ve said there is no part time shifts!
