I would like to thank all the postmen and women who have again worked tirelessly delivering our post throughout the year in all weathers and in all circumstances.
This year has been a particularly trying year for the postal workers with the various disputes over pay and working conditions but the men and women on the street deliveries have had to endure more than the staff in the office.
A lot of the general public did not understand the situation concerning the strikes, etc and it's the postal worker delivering the mail that endures the comments, good or bad, and has still to be polite and do their job.
I wish all the postmen and women the very best for Christmas and the New Year and trust that next year may see an improvement in their working situation and their pay.
