Ordering new uniform but no storm jacket option?

Ordered the new uniform, can't find any option for either storm jacket or kagoule....in outer wear it just has the storm trousers listed, nothing else.

I've been through the entire list and full allocation of everything showing yet the main screen still tells me i have 8 items left?

I know it doesn’t answer your question but I wondered the same thing. The design is different so I assumed it would have been available. We shall see.

Apparently the stormcoat jacket isn't yet part of the `new` uniform rollout, RM will be introducing them to the range in late 2021.

If you've ordered uniform off the people app you can still order under the current range and is probably why you still have 8 items left.

You can order it via the website too. The app actually just takes you to the website.
What I found bizarre was you need to order absolutely everything available under the allocation for the order to be placed. 2 hi-viz (and had to be of the same size, so couldn't even get a smaller one for the summer when it doesn't need to go over a fleece) and a girly sunhat, new style shoes, may have something else as well.

We had to order the new uniform 1 month ago in our D/O. No option to order the storm jacket. In total i ordered 21 items. Not being delivered until at least March 2022. Hope i don't put too much pudding on over Xmas.

so we can only order 2 trousers or 2 shorts or 1 of each, but 5 shirts, wouldnt it be practical for 2 shorts and 3 trousers or what ever instead of just 2, i like a clean uniform on every day

Totally agree and with only having 1 of each item, shorts for the decent weather, kecks for the cold etc they're quickly going to wear out, lucky to get 6 months out of the pocket lining on the existing uniform.

I thought it a bit silly having to order at least 1 of each item as theres a few things i know ile never wear! Also didnt realise if you pick 1 pair of each trousers and a pair of shorts, then thats it! Same as for shirts. So... what are you supposed to do when its winter and your trousers get soaked in the rain?? Or in summer when your shirt gets all sweaty? I certainly wont be continuously washing uniform one day to the next!

What a crock of s**t this is. Seriously who comes up with this sort of nonsense. Got an email saying I need to order my uniform so went on the app to do it. As others have said you have to order absolutely everything even though you probably won’t wear half of it. Seriously - 60 year old guys weighing 20 stone wearing a pair of tights, it’s a bloody joke. Anyway the issue I have is the footwear, I always wear RM boots and never have a problem with my feet, yet the only option is a pair of Chinese made trainers. Is that it for footwear do we know? Cheap trainers that last a month before they start to collapse and cause foot issues. Plus trainers stink once they get wet.looks like many will once again be buying their own footwear.

If you order a shirt, it counts as 2 polo tops...
You absolutely have to have that tool belt thing they show with pliers in? I won't use it.
Have to have one of each hat? Can't have 2 (or more) of one type?
Watch the videos on each item: they make it sound like we'll be covered in PDAs.
It's the shoes that worry me though. It took me long enough to find a company issued type that actually fit both my feet, I just hope I can get more of them (the older type) before this thing comes in.

As a bloke approaching retirement, from the current range I can only order maternity polo shirts and some maternity trousers. Is my manager trying to tell me that I've put on a few pounds over lockdown?

But as to why it's not available to order I don't know. I agree the one shirt policy is crazy. You really are forced to supplement with wearing polos if you don't want to wash the same shirt everyday.
Either that or you keep it for special occasions like local dignitary visits/press conferences/nights on the town etc.

I actually like the look of the new footwear. Looks as though they may have some cushioning in them. They are supposed to be water resistant. As to the sole longevity, that will be the big factor as RM can't afford to be replacing them every 3 months or less. The pair of Panther/Aboutblu shoes I'm using have been exceptional in regards to sole wear. Probably nearly 1 year of usefulness. So it goes to show that manufacturers can make them last. They just don't.

By the way, what do you think he's hiding under that jacket? And why is he smiling?

You will not need a jacket with the new uniform, the way it’s been designed with the leggings & lightweight tops & running type shoes, a heavy wet jacket will hold you back, you’ll never achieve the speed to complete your new PDA monitored duty
