Ill Health Retirement & Tax....

Post by Hawkey99 »

Does anybody know if you pay tax on the amount you get if you are Ill Health Retired ?

If so is it on all or part of the amount.

Many Thanks

The actual part of ill health money i.e the 34 weeks is tax free, however if you have Pay in lieu of notice(PILON) which is usually the payment you get for service(12 weeks max) and any unused holidays is taxed.
