We get these threads back and forward usually accompanied by tales of doom and gloom and the business going bust.

They're funny but not to be taken seriously.
You beat me to it WG. Why do people insist on stressing themselves out over rumours? :hmmmm

So one DOM decides to use a very blunt tool to solve his problems and suddenly the whole business is going bankrupt!

We normally hear the "Over Time Ban" rumour after the Christmas Rush when we're approaching the end of the Financial Year and RM start watching the pennies. It normally last for a week or two and then it's business as usual. :whistle

I tend to work on the principle of being aware of what's "Rumoured" to be coming down the line..... but don't start worrying about it until they're starting to discuss it happening in my Unit! It's not worth the stress .... it's like those Bloody Pinging idiot-phones that just set your nerves on edge.... Switch off the Strees! :cuppa
I'm not stressed one bit. In fact I hope there is an overtime ban on, it'll f**k our office right up.

I love this forum. It has me in tears.
It’s like eastenders crossed with the only way is Essex but amazingly, with even lower IQs.

Crack on lads, this is gold.

Most likely to do with the start of the school holidays and traditional drop off in Mail and Dom’s clawing in their spending to suit.

There's also a few posts on the Facebook RM chat also saying OT is being reduced, it seems that definitely the case at some DO's. Perhaps if the DO's are fully staffed then HO have decided there's no need for OT at those sites?
We don't talk about them over there, it may even be the same bloke, and instead of posting in 2 groups as they do over there in case group 1 didn't get it 1st, he did it in the almighty website as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We have a ‘complete OT ban’ this week but we PTers are still unsure if we can still do OT hours to take us up to FT hours - a lot of us on rurals, town rounds etc which we are usually allowed morning OT to prep.

I’ve no problem just doing my 5 hours but it will be amusing with 2 hours of that being prep/van checks/loading, an hour to the start of the round and back leaving just 2 hours for delivery.

About a quarter of us are PT and none of us know what time to start tomorrow, nothing from management. As usual, ‘for a communications company’ etc etc.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Ignoring the boring one and going back on topic, here a good chunk of the PT staff (including me) are allowed OT up to full time hours then that’s it - so 13 hours to take me up to 38 hours.

To be honest it’s made my job easier, before you were asked/pressured to do that bit extra, do those tracked on another round, do a few extra loops. With the OT being wiped out it takes away that pressure and any arguments about needing to be done on time.

As a bonus, all 13 hours OT is being done indoors prepping which is somewhat easier than it being outdoors OT. Thanks Royal Mail :thumbup
