Thinking about what you have said it seems clever thinking by the DOM to get you to do the parcels before you start your round, as I assume you deliver all the Tracked items so there's then no danger of them failing if you can't finish your round! It seems to me you need to stop the duplication of doing the parcel run and then delivering the mail later in the day.

My gf started today and was told that her shift pattern is every Wed to Sunday (5 days) with mon and tues off.
In the interview she was told she would work some sundays not all sundays and all Saturdays.
She won't stay there long unless something has changed.
Do you think this is unreasonable even for a new starter that was expecting to maybe work some sundays? Should she see a dom or union rep??

Standard procedure to sell this job and get someone through the door. She just needs to be blunt with the DOM and say give me the variety sold to me or i'll leave. Union will be mostly unhelpful, but any support is better than none. The DOM will most likely use an excuse and lie such as, "too busy/lack of staff and in the future we'll look at it."
