There can't be many DOs (or shifts in MCs) that could function without OT and probably SA as well, and that's before Covid hit

its simple if they want to turn these revisions round as a money saving scheme in offices for them and not to do them right to do a fair and manageable workload as the agreement , "no pay no way " and home on time everyday regardless what is left to do .

The only way you could put a revision in based around the idea of no overtime would be to over-resource the entire office so that you always have cover no matter what happens.

Then nothing happens and nobody goes sick and the manager is looking for a new job so go for it, it'll be a laugh if nothing else.

I’ve just been looking at my payslips and the difference between me doing FT hours (13 hours OT) and PT is just £100 after deductions. Don’t get me wrong £100 extra a week is nice however it’s ‘only’ £20 a day, I’m happy doing that OT but if RM decide to ban all OT that’s fine, they’ll be asking me if I can do extra hours before I ask them.

I do wonder if it’s a longer term plan to not have to pay holiday pay - if they keep my OT to less than 8 hours then they (as per the agreement which we’ll soon be balloted on) won’t be paying it.

As always I acknowledge everyone’s financial circumstances are different.

We have been asked not to say anything about but this but I will say a little. Apparently RM are saying the mail volumes have dropped and that they don't want any of us working our days off. I would guess this means they are pushing for more absorption as well. I asked if this meant we could no longer book any overtime/extended and our DOM said this would be the case. I was lead to believe this was not connected with the current revision activity and was just for our region/area but maybe as others are mentioning it this plan is more widespread.
Anyway our DOM is of the opinion that our mail volumes have not dropped significantly(We agree with this statement.), is really p***** off about this change, & is seeking to negotiate us out of it. Our DOM doesn't want us start 'working to rule' ,as RM would see it, maybe as our last usage of this 'tactic' resulted in the previous DOM quitting the job. I don't personally agree with the 'working to rule' terminology and the negative connotations associated with it as it is just being paid to do work then go home.
We take pride in our job and some of us still enjoy it but this kind of s*** really rubs us up the wrong way especially as we have been working so hard during the Covid situation and had scant thanks from those in the high echelons of RM. We know the general public appreciate the work we do though. Nevertheless RM are really barking up the wrong tree if they expect to win on this one. They are just a bunch of lying scumbags to be honest. End of rant. :)
