A WHITEHAVEN postman has had his finger end nipped off by a dog as he tried to make Christmas deliveries.
Whitehaven police were called when a resident of Coronation Drive in Whitehaven discovered a finger tip among all his Christmas cards on the hall floor.
PC Mick Taylor said: “I first checked with casualty at the hospital and they had no reports of anyone having suffered a finger injury. Then I checked with the postal sorting office manager and it was discovered that a postperson had had his finger end bitten off by a dog.â€

HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE MANY MANY YEARS AGO, LARGE BUNDLE IN ONE HAND LETTERS IN OTHER-PUT LETTERS AND FINGERS THROUGH LETTER BOX AND GERMAN SHEPARD NIPPED MY FINGER !!!!!!!! LADY DOG OWNER WAS MOST APOLOGETIC . I TOLD HER NOT TO WORRY AS IT WAS MY OWN FAULT PUTTING MY FINGERS THROUGH THE LETTER BOX. REPORTED IT BACK AT THE DO AND WAS DISPATCHED OFF TO HOSPITAL FOR A JAB AND NO SECOND DELIVERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!javascript:emoticon(':nana')
